I have a Beachwaver curling iron & can't get the hang of using it. Is this one easier to use?

MUCH easier! I have tried both and the KISS takes half the time and the curl holds just as well. I will warn you there is a bit of a leaning curve with this one, but nothing too difficult. Once you figure out the best way to place the hair and how to hold the iron your results will get better. It only took me a few times to master this. It's so quick and easy looks GREAT!

what is the difference between this one and the one that is like $27?

Having used the other one exclusively for 2 years then just upgrading to this one... the design is much better. The cheaper one would catch and tangle in my hair more often. The tines in the cheaper one are higher and closer to the barrel leading to tangling. This one has only one tight paddle that basically guides the hair on the barrel. I haven't had a tangle yet and I've used it more than 10 times. I have 3 ft of thick Filipino hair so I need a machine that can handle it. After 2 years the cheaper one started to rip my hair out everytime.
