Method Smarty Dish Plus Dishwasher Detergent Packs, Fragrance Free, 45 Count (Pack of 1)

We have been using this product for almost a year now and I am nearly perfectly satisfied with it. I initially purchased it because it is fragrance free and I am very sensitive to scent, to the point where I can smell and taste it on my glasses and plates if I use a traditional dishwasher detergent. Unlike other fragrance free products, this one truly is without any perfumed odor. We have used it in hard water and softened water and it cleans very effectively in both and is far superior to any other fragrance free products I've tried. The only thing that has kept me from giving it five stars is that the individual packets are almost always too fat for the closed compartment in my dishwasher and I have to flatten them with a can or a meat mallet before I am able to use them. The dishwasher I own is probably one of the most common on the market and has normal compartment measurements, so I know this has to be a problem for others. Still, this product is so much better than the alternatives that I haven't even considered looking any longer.

We have tried a few of the various environmentally friendly dishwasher products out there, and so far this one seems to work the best. We have an older model Bosch dishwasher which is about 7 years old at this point, and we don't usually rise our dishes that well (or at all) before putting them into the dishwasher.Of all the natural products we have tried, this one seems to do the best job of actually getting dried, caked or burned on food off pots and pans. Specifically, after we cook bacon in the oven on a broiler pan, there are always a few spots of burnt/sticky grease on the lower portion of the pan. Other products would do an admirable job of getting these spots to the point where it just takes a quick post-wash wipe with a sponge to get the last black bits off, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that this product cleaned these spots almost completely. Same with eggs and cheese - this got about 95% of the burnt on cheese off a stainless steel pan after making an omelette.

I used to use Seventh Generation dishwasher gel. I noticed that it wasn't cleaning as well as before so I checked that my dishwasher was in good condition and decided to change up my dishwashing detergent. This does seem to wash better. My glasses come out much clearer. I generally pre-rinse my dishes by hand before putting in the dishwasher and all my dishes have come out pretty sparkling clean. I sometimes run my dishes under water before use and I have noticed that it seems like there's still a film of soap because it's a little slippery to touch but that could be my imagination because I can't imagine them to look this clean if there was a film of soap residue.

I've said it in other reviews, I will say it again - I have a sense of smell that would rival a bloodhound. (Can't see well, mind you, but could smell my way out of a bat cave.)Method dishwasher tabs are the only ones we will use now. We've tried the unscented and even took a chance on the Lemon Mint. Neither one leaves an odour or residue.Feeling a bit brave, I just bought the grapefruit scent - strong smell in the bag so not sure how they will do in the dishwasher.Warning - Now that I have said to the universe that I love these and have given it a 5-star-review, they will probably either change the formula and they will smell like a french whorehouse or take them off the market.

I can't stand the smell of perfumes on my dishes that a lot of detergents leave. This succeeded in that it does not stink! I was trying this out to compare to the 7th generation similar product, and it seems to work similarly. Unfortunately both of these products sometimes leave a white undissolved residue on dishes and so some dishes have to be washed again. I dream someday someone will make a non smelly dish washing detergent that is reliable to clean dishes like some of those smelly detergents are.

Works equally well as the Seventh Generation version. I like this because it does not have fragrance and it is reasonably priced. However, it does not clean as well as some other brands (that uses fragrance and harsh chemicals) if there are caked/dried on food particles. To me it is better to hand wash or pre-soak those difficult to clean dishes than to smell/taste fragrance when I eat. I will definitely repurchase this or Seventh Gen when I run out.

I truly HATE scented dishwasher detergent!! It leaves the dishes smelling like detergent and especially the plastic items which then transfers the smell to the food so it taste like the detergent smells. I have searched for totally fragrance free product that does a good job in my new dishwasher and Method met all my requirements. Absolutely scent free and does a great job on getting our dishes clean and grease free. When I get low I order more from Amazon and am now on my 3rd order and will continue to use Method.

The pills clean very well, and I'm happy to support a company such as Method, with a good corporate ethos and people-friendly/eco-friendly products.Why 4 stars? I wish they were a little bit flatter. I almost always have to smush them a bit in order to get them to fit into my dishwasher's detergent compartment. But it's a very small complaint. I'd definitely purchase them again.
