Detailed yet easy to digest
I've ordered several Feng Shui books which are dense and confusing even thought they're targeted for "beginners." I like this text because it doesn't leave you confused or overwhelmed. And the solutions aren't things that will make your home look like a circus.

Great book
I love this book. It covers a large variety of Feng Shui principles in a easy to read and understand format. I had checked it out from the library twice and decided I needed a copy of my own for reference. I was very happy buying a used copy and it was like brand new.

Practical Feng Shui: Book Needs a 2nd Ed. to Have Ideas Better Combined for a Feng Shui Home
I’ve got to say it: This book begins with discussing feng shui today, and then, by taking the reader back 4,000 years to learn about its origin and listing its parts and how they contribute to this master craft in today’s world. The first thing that struck me when I bought this book was the use of Nine Ki Astrology, which is not western astrology which I have formally studied. For people like me, the web helps facilitate better understanding by locating information that compares and contrasts both types of astrology. For example, Nine Ki astrology is about the elements, while western astrology is about a particular person’s (country, business, etc.) life. This 1997 soft-cover book has 192 semi-glossy pages, all of which has at least 1 color photo and/ or a hand-drawing, table, etc. or other graphic. The author of this book is Simon G. Brown, who studied Oriental therapy and feng shui and practiced in the US and UK.The publisher is Cassell Illustrated/ A Ward Lock Book, London. The back cover of the book says that this book: “Demonstrates an ancient art which can transform your life and fortuned by attracting favourable rather than unfavourable energies; Offers practical advice on planning and arranging every room in your home to help you realize your aims and aspirations; Advises on colours, materials and other decorative elements that will enhance your living space and improve your general well-being; and Promotes good relationships, good sex, good health and good business through inspired interior design.”In the first pre-section, ‘Feng Shui’, on pages 5-10, this term “means ‘wind and water’ It is the art of designing your home to promote success in life, health, wealth and happiness.” Besides this, there is a list of things attributed to feng shui, its styles, the 4 schools, approaches, its use in the southern hemisphere, and how to use this book. The Contents has 4 main Sections. Buy the book to see the sub-Sections, color photos and graphics.Section 1: The Principles of Feng ShuiSection 2: Your Home and Its SurroundingsSection 3: The Rooms in Your HomeSection 4: Design Elements in Feng ShuiThe last sections following these are: Finding a New Home, Index, Acknowledgements, About the Author, and Credits. The main ideas in this book are good, but there could be more written about how to combine all of these sections together in, for instance, in 1 house, to create perfect feng shui. As is, this book has separate sections which need to all be tied together to create perfect harmony as a whole. Maybe a revised edition will do this.

Excellent
If you were curious about the use of Feng Shui in your life and want to get started but not sure how, this is the book for you. It's a wonderful informative book full of color and ideas that create positive changes. It is easy to read, understand, and apply. It's become a staple in our household. Even youngsters can benefit from it and have found it to be an interesting and fun read. (It has helped with keeping rooms a bit more orderly)I've seen many books on this subject but this is "bar none" my favorite. It makes a fantastic gift.

Decorate and Accessorize using Feng Shui
Practical Feng Shui: Arrange, Decorate and Accessorize Your Home to Promote Health, Wealth and Happiness This handy feng shui book is probably not the best bet for the beginner, however as an adjunct to the feng shui library, it offers valuable advice on designing areas of the home to be in harmony. Specific details on items such as table settings will be of special interest. Furniture placement according to energy and room alignment will also be helpful. Many photos and illustrations showing colors, furniture styles, placement, even fabric types are listed throughout.

Good for beginners
If you are new to Feng Shui this is a good book to start with. It is simple, not too much information and there are plenty of pictures that provide a visual explanation. I really enjoyed it. A good complement to the beginner course of the Feng Shui Academy.

The best Feng Shui book
I bouhht this for a friend because her house is very sick and she was having too much bad luck. This is the 3rd book I have bought and passed on to friends. It is easy to read, understand and follow. I have been practising Feng Shui for 25 years and Simon Brown has Feng Shui 'd each of our houses over that time.
