AquaDoodle - Travel Doodle with Bonus Pen and Cap

This is the absolute bomb if you need to travel with your kids. We have the large pad and my toddler (19mo) has adored that since she was able to sit so figured i'd try the travel version. We travelled by plane a lot in the last few months including a few nasty delays and this pad was a lifesaver. Let me explain why:-Weighs nearly nothing. With a toddler you have enough carry on stuff to tote around. Weight matters!-Fits great in a backpack and the marker comes with a lid-No oopsies! If your child tried to redecorate the plane walls when you turn around for a split second no harm done! Also no stained hands or clothes. Awesome!-Dries quickly enough so there is always a spot to draw something new.-Open ended play! If they get bored, make up a game and draw with them. Possibilities are endlessMy daughter is little but during a long delay older kids came to our basecamp to see what she was doing and drew with her. Just as with drawing with pencil and paper I can see this having a very long lifespan.Have already given some as gifts and the positive reviews keep coming.If you're unsure about the large pad this is great to try first. My kid was 18 months for her first flight and we got this to take on the plane. She loved it then and also loves it at home! It does dry fast, but she's not old enough to be trying to make art, just scribbling, so that's actually a plus for us. Two notes about the pens: they are threaded the opposite way from everything else, and you have to fill only about halfway in order to avoid water spilling out when you put the top on.

This was perfect for keeping my eighteen month old playing happily for quite a while. Be careful to only store capped pens in the elastic holder. I made the mistake of putting the smaller pen without a cap on there, and the water bled into the pad leaving a permanent watermark in one corner.

If your child/children love to color this will keep them occupied for hours! My son is not a huge fan but still liked it and my daughter loved it! As in the name perfect for travel! I wish they made another one in different colors too. My only compliant is that for some reason when you color in some areas it doesn't work 100%. My guess is that the kids got a little food grease on it so the marker won't bleed through in those areas.

We got this for my almost two-year-old son about six months ago, and he still loves it! I love that it is smaller and very bendable, so he can't break it when he is rough with it. We take this on car trips, to restaurants, to church, the doctors office, anywhere I need to keep him busy for a while. We only ever use the pen with the cap, because the pen without the cap tends to soak anything the tip touches.Pros:Very durablePortable, and can be used many different placesNo mess!Love the pen with the capCons:Since there isn't a holder for the second pen, we just keep it stored inside the travel doodle. The pen seems to leak if it is full of water, even with the cap on, and there are water stains on both sides of the travel doodle.The pages seem to dry really quickly, which can be good in some situations, but often times the start of the drawing is already disappearing by the time the end of the drawing is being finished.

Does what it says it does! My only complaint is that the cap on the pen is easy to loose, and the pens get destroyed without a cap. Obviously we can take better care of our things, but I felt it was worth pointing out.

I love this aquadoodle so much! I bought one years ago and I was so happy to see they still made these. Even the first one I bought still works after years of use so it's definitely a good buy.. And to beat it all, this one is travel size and, for us, its wonderful because we travel alot and lil man gets restless. This is one of his fav toys. It fits nicely in his backpack along with all his trucks and cars he has to take along for the ride.

This is such a great travel toy for so many reasons: 1) It is hard to break; 2) My kids won't grow out of it in age super quickly; 3) It doesn't have a lot of losable parts. 4) The kids love it.The downside: The extra marker doesn't come with a cap, so you might find water spilling wherever you leave it. The solution? Just use the marker with the lid. Unfortunate, but not terrible.
