Great bow!
When I went shopping for bows online, I didn't know what to look for at first. I went straight to reviews, and was a little disheartened when I saw that most of the reviews were written by adults who purchased this bow for their children. I am a 6'2 20 year old guy who has never done any kind of archery, but has had an interest for many years. I was looking for a bow for ME, and I needed one that would accommodate my size and age. This bow looked the most "adult" to me, so I went ahead and purchased it. Upon its arrival I opened up the box and took it into the yard. I saved a little money by using a cardboard box as a target. I was surprised on how heavy the string is. I understand why the reviews all mention that some children may not be able use this one. It's true! I can do it fairly easily, however after shooting a few dozen arrows I have to stop.I cannot speak for the accuracy of the bow, because I have only used this one, so I have no baseline to compare it to. However, I will say that it is much harder to hit a target than I thought. I've only hit the bullseye once out of maybe 100 shots. As far as power is concerned, when I am actually able to hit my cardboard box, the arrow will ALWAYS pierce it in at least one point of contact. Depending on the angle and power of the shot, the arrow will sometimes pierce the opposite side of the box too, and rarely it will completely pass through the entire thing. The arrows that came with the bow are definitely cheap, but have held up surprisingly well. They are 27" and have done a little better than the dozen 26" arrows I bought at another store. I suppose it is all up to personal preference, but I recommend buying at least 10 additional 27" arrows to accompany the bow.I definitely think this is an excellent beginner's bow, and I highly recommend it to BIG kids, AND adults!Pros:StrongSturdyVery funFairly cheapCons:Unable to come up with any at the moment.

Fast shipping, good youth bow.
Bow arrived two days after ordering, using super saver shipping!I'm not an expert archer, however I will compare this bow to my 62 inch, 25 lb takedown recurve bow.The barnett sportflight bow is easier to string and unstring. Seems to be a lower tension at stringing. The bow works reasonably well out to about a 27 inch draw. At 28 inches (I'm a six foot adult, short arms, with a 28 inch draw), the bow starts to "stack" which means it gets MUCH more difficult to draw, and then it's hard to maintain form. So this bow is probably good as a youth or shorter adult bow. For a full sized adult, you might run into some problems at full draw.I found the arrows to be fairly reasonable quality given the price of the bow. I was able to hit a target within a 12 inch grouping at 20 feet, right out of the box (I hadn't shot a bow in years!!!). So it's a lot of fun and a fairly good shooter. My recurve, in comparison, puts a little extra power behind the shot. The recurve can be drawn out to 29 inches without an considerable stacking. So, you get what you pay for. It's a fun bow for youths and smaller people. If you have a draw (distance you pull back the arrow) past 27 inches (the max draw on the package says 27 inches, but the amazon listing says 28!), you'll find the bow doesn't work so well.I probably would have gave it five stars if the bow was perhaps a few inches longer, then it would probably draw out to 28 or 29 inches. But, the market isn't a large adult with good form, so I would definitely recommend this bow for what it is recommended for (youth archery) especially at the price and fast shipping!

Great little bow and an excellent value for the money
Great little bow and an excellent value for the money! I bought this for Christmas so when young relatives were over we'd have something to do. I was surprised at the quality of the bow and it is fun to shoot and it's a great little shooter. It's ambidextrous too, so right and left handers can use it. I'm ambidextrous and an avid recurve/longbow shooter and own 5 bows and this little bow really impresses me. WARNING, the arrows are crap and the nocks were entirely too tight for the bow string. If you don't know anything about bows, get someone to help you with these issues or do some Youtube searches to learn yourself, because this could turn you and your child off archery. Like I said I'm an experienced archery and couldn't hit anything with those arrows, but with the correct arrows it's actually quite accurate!!! Academy has individual arrows for about $6 each, but don't get the really cheap child arrows, get the arrows with nocks stream lined into the arrow shaft.

Great Starter
I got my Boy Scout archery merit badge back in the 80s. I was actually pretty good at it, but it has been a while. Fast forward to the 2010s and my daughter (12ish) is interested in archery. I got this set for her as a gift and we've had fun practicing with it at a local range. BTW, bear in mind you may need to pay range fees unless you have a safe location in which to practice. This is a solid bow set. It is well made and feels like it will last. The arrows are okay for beginners, but when using some pricier and lighter models, I could tell the difference. This set comes with a finger guard, but no arm guard. 2 arrows is laughable, but I bought 3 more and have picked up some spares since. The 25lb draw is decent for a recurve bow in this price range, but past 20 meters you really need to be a good shot to achieve any accuracy since you'll have to start taking the flight arc of the arrow into consideration. I guess what I'm saying is that this is a fun, quality bow to learn with, but it is by no means a pro level bow kit. I hope my daughter gets a good year's worth of use from it, and if she is still into archery at that point, I'll probably upgrade to a more professional starter like the Samick Sage Takedown Recurve Bow 55lb .~ Kort

Fantastic Bow
My 11 (almost 12) year old daughter loves this bow! She has spent a lot of time with it already, and it works really well for her. It definitely has enough power, and is "serious" enough - this is not a toy! It's big enough for all of us in the family to use, and has been lots of fun. Much better than I had expected, really, for the price.

and it's a pretty impressive bow for the price
My son loves it, and it's a pretty impressive bow for the price. The arrows are cheap. He lost the tip off one in a bale of hay and the notch on the other one broke, so be prepared to buy replacement arrows. But the bow has good spring for an "entry level" bow. I enjoy it, too. My son figured out that it comes apart and he can fit all the pieces in his sport bag. Like I said, good bow for the price. I took a star away because the arrows didn't survive a couple of hours of play.
