Sauder Barrister Lane Side Table, Salt Oak finish

It's great to find a well-designed, attractive table at an affordable price. This table is such and fits its intended purpose to a "T". If there was anything negative to write about it, it would be the extensive amount of packaging that was used to protect the unit during shipping. Of course, that packaging helps ensure that the unit arrives unassembled in top condition, which this one did. Highly recommended.

Looks good. Easy to assemble. Very simple, minimalistic, elegant, yet industrial. Fit my needs perfectly. If there is any chance of it getting wet I would recommend caulking the end grains.

My table arrived very quickly and well packaged. I began to assemble the table following the instructions but quickly discovered that method was poorly thought out. The instructions called for installing the legs into the top metal support piece then sliding the second and lower shelf onto the legs. After a few minutes of struggling to get all four legs simultaneously through the corners of the second shelf, I realized using the brute force necessary to accomplish this feat would more than likely result in damaging the powder coating on the metal legs by scraping it. I work part-time for a store chain that also sells RTA furniture so I have experience in working around suggested assembly instructions. I stacked all three supports together and installed the legs through all four corners at the same time, working layer by layer. The installation of the wood pieces was also a bit of a challenge. The pilot holes drilled into the particle board were fine for the most part but there was one hole on each board where the screws didn't get a good "bite" into the wood. The screws just ground out the hole instead. Overall, the table is attractive and sturdy enough for my needs once it was finally put together.

And it was a good purchase, exactly what we were looking for, but locally, it was challenging to find here in the stores here in LV. So glad that hubby found it, put it together, and it looks really nice in our living room. Goes with our overall coastal beach theme.

Perfect.

Have a Sauder Barrister desk and cabinet which were easy enough to assemble but this was a very different story. Just not as good of quality as their other items.
