I’ve been searching for a better solution to the plastic guards that are currently available on the market. Saw this one and ordered right away. After using it for a couple of weeks, I’m delighted with the performance. How does it stay in place? My tongue and cheek keep it between my teeth. Sometimes one side slips out of place, but so far the other side has stayed between my molars and keeps my teeth from grinding.I modified the hemp part to fit my very small child sized mouth - cut it in half. It was easy with a nice pair of scissors. I have some cotton kitchen twine, will make another one with the extra pieces.The price seems high at first glance, but bringing a product like this to market has other expenses that need to be covered. I think it’s a reasonable price. I paid $1,000 at the dentist for a custom fit plastic guard, and it moved some of my front teeth out of alignment before I misplaced it. Hmm, $30 or $1,000 replacement cost? I’ll take $30 all day long.I have also tried the cheaper plastic boil and fit guards. Even the child size ones have extra plastic behind the front teeth that push my tongue back into my throat. That does not make for a good night’s sleep and is dangerous to health. Here is another reason I’m absolutely delighted with this hemp guard – my sleep and health are improving!This is one of those “Why didn’t I think of that?” products. With the mounting evidence on the negative impact of microplastics i decided that chewing on plastic all night might not be that smart, so I decided to try this product (because nothing else was available). I was pretty sure this was going to be a waste of money BUT I have to say this mouth guard is checking all the boxes. It prevents tooth to tooth contact. It stays in place. Its comfortable (after trimming per the directions). It also feels like it will last for a while (not sure yet). Regarding cleaning - i use a toothbrush to scrub it in the morning, and every 3-4 days a put a small glass ramekin filled with water in the microwave for 20 seconds and then drop the guard in the boiling water to disinfect. Very easy. I am a fan!

No matter how I cut it as per directions, it did not work for me. It became so hard after use that it caused sores in my mouth and on my tongue. Yes, I followed all the instructions. I had to throw my non-returnable item away along with my $30 for it. I was hoping this natural guard would've worked, but it did not. For me, it was a waste of money. I would've given it zero stars.

I love this mouth guard. It works great and no micro plastics flooding your system every night and staying with you for the rest of your life. Yes, it doesn't last as long as plastic. Of course it doesn't. It's natural, not forever plastic. It's the forever part of plastic that is so bad after all.If forms to the shape of my bite every night once it's gets wet. I trim it to fit my mouth and bite best. The back molars on one side get super sensitive if I grind too hard, so I cut that side shorter and my teeth don't meet back there while all my other teeth sit on the guard. I hope that makes sense. Some nights I grind very badly. Other nights not so much. It took getting used to at first but so does any plastic one. Each one lasts a few months for me so I buy a two pack on average every 9-10 months I think. Maybe longer.I'm super grateful these exist. I literally don't know what I'd do if they didn't. I have autoimmune issues and refuse to grind on plastic or rubber or any thing synthetic every night.

I have been looking for a mouth guard that wasn't made from some sort of plastic. Microplastics have been linked to heart disease and cancer so I don't want that in my mouth for several hours every night. I ran across this and thought I would try it. It actually works. I've gotten into a routine of boiling it every morning while making my tea, so that part isn't as odd as it first was. I have a high bite, so I was able to fold over the front part of it to be able to adjust for my teeth so the pressure is dispersed more evenly, so that worked out well. I have ideas that could improve the design but I doubt they would listen to me lol. The price is a little much also, but I will pay it to be able to avoid plastics.
