CAD D10

Okay first off, let me say this seems to be a well made mic. Heavy duty and sleek. I am not a "True" drummer and I was looking for something on a budget. I was using a Sennheiser e609 to mic my cajon for a while because it was all I had. It did the job but I knew I needed a beefier mic, one made for a kick drum. So I gave this CAD D-10 a shot and right off the bat I was impressed! Nice boomy, well rounded, great response and punchy sound! Granted, I am coming from a guitar mic but I've played music professionally for years and I know a good sounding kick when I hear it. I'm using this on my meinl bass box tonight and I think it sounds great. Nice mic for the price.

Its a bass drum mic. It didn't make me go "wow" but it got a thumbs up for being good enough to use live at a very reasonable price point. Will probably get a 2nd one just for that rare occasion I get a drummer with two bass drums, at this price, not much reason not to. Will probably be looking at the other CAD drum mics soon since I was happy with this one.

For the price you really can't beat it. I use this to mic up my bass amp to record bass guitar, and run a DI signal as well. This mic sounds surprisingly good, especially for the price. Great low end response, clear and crisp highs. I love it and will be using it for a long time to come until I can afford a Shure Beta 52A

Great Sounding Kick Drum Microphone for a great price well worth it..

If you don't have the cash for one of the more expensive "industry standard" kick drum mics on the market, this one will fill your needs well, and might even convince you not to buy one of the more expensive ones. the frequency response on this one is contoured, to get good, solid, clean kick, along with the crack of the batter slapping the skin, with little or no EQ. Tweak the EQ a little (it rarely needs much) and you will certainly like what you hear.

A really good kick mic. Has great response for the kick drum. Nice deep thump. Of course it also depends on the amp/mixer your running it threw.

Good sound for a bass drum.
