250GB Hard Drive for Dell Latitude D520 D620 D630 D820

I purchased 2 of these 250g Hard drives for my Dell Latitude D630 Laptops to increase their size from the standard 80gb that was installed.I purchased them through the Vendor "US_Electronics". They were sold as "NEW".I received both in factory sealed packaging, and they were brand new as promised.One was a Seagate. I formatted the drive and it's running fine.The second drive was a Western Digital Scorpio. I formatted the drive and it lasted a few days. It started making clicking noises right from the start, and then it failed totally.. I contacted the company. And they stated they would replace the drive.. I will update when I get the replacement drive and see how it works.UPDATE: I received the new drive from the company. The replacement drive was another Seagate. The new drive is working just great.The company was very responsive to my issue and replied quickly. I appreciate that. I would buy from this vendor again in the future.Thank you.

A Dell Latitude 630, that I bought used, arrived with a hard drive that was just 80GB. That size was smaller than promised and much too small for my needs. For a modest investment in this hard drive from Finity India via Amazon, I was able to expand my formatted mass storage space from 74GB to 297GB, which is more capacity than was advertised when I ordered this drive.I downloaded free software and used a spare SATA USB adapter to clone the disk that was in the computer, then swapped out the old hard drive for this new one. With the new hard drive, my computer booted right up without a problem. Using the Windows 7 disk partitioning utility, I maximized the partition on the new drive to take advantage of the dramatically expanded space. It was certainly a positive experience to receive more than I was promised when I placed my order.

Good replacement - Works fine and easy to replace (although this will depend on your pc / laptop).

It's hard to be wildly enthusiastic about a hard drive, whose specs are known in advance. It either works, or it doesn't, and this drive performed perfectly straight out of the box. The seller, with whom you have no track record, is another story. And almost as important as the product itself. And this company came through with a nicely packaged product that arrived early. Hard to ask for much more than that.

The hard drive came quickly and was easy to install and worked perfectly. Also, the company sent an upgraded version that was 320GB's, for the same price. I was a little confused, because amazon said it was sold by Hard Drive Geeks but it was shipped by Discount18. So, Discount18 will probably not get the credit for this good review.

I can't truly give a review, because the Dell Latitude must have other problems, in the Bios or mother board problems, this new hard drive won't boot up in the dell Latitude I bought it for. But it did work in my test machine. So I'll give it a five star.

The hard drive was received as ordered and in a very reasonable time. It has not been used due to other problems with the laptop. The vendor responded in a very satisfactory manner to this purchase.
