THE NORTH FACE Women's Thermoball Full Zip Jacket

I bought this jacket to use as an outdoor travel jacket, keen to try out North Face's Thermoball "technology" that claims to stay warm even when wet (unlike down that loses insulation as soon as it gets wet).Great things about this jacket:- Rumba red is a great ruby shade of red- Stylish cut with two zipped up pockets- Extremely lightweight and easily foldable / packable, making it a good travel jacket to keep in a backpack- Slightly waterproof - I tested this in light rain and water droplets just stay as droplets on the jacket, making it easy to wipe dryDespite all these great features, I decided to rate it 3 stars as the jacket is nowhere near as warm as down. Given that the jacket is meant to be the "outer layer" (given its claim that it can stay warm when wet), it is simply not warm enough as the outer jacket even if you layer it with other garments inside. While normally I would be warm with my down jacket with two layers inside, this jacket worn with the same two layers inside left me quite chilled. It's less of an issue once I warmed up in my walk but it is not warm enough once I stand still.Given how lightweight this is, I think this will make a good autumn travel jacket but don't plan to substitute this for your down jacket!

I loved so much about this jacket - the colour (green), the length, and the fact that it was light In weight ideal for Spring and Autumn. I ordered the size Medium and Large, but the Medium was too small and the Large was way too big! Even when I tried a jumper under the size Large it was still too big. I had to send both jackets back for a refund.

We had seen this in one of the outdoor shops. But the newer version of this jacket has copper colour logo. Daughter didn't seem to impressed with it, she is a fan of silver. So we looked this up on various sites including Amazon. We found the older version with silver logo in stock here, at a very good price. We immediately ordered, and it arrived in time. Daughter is very happy. The jacket is as expected. Looks stylish. It doesn't provide as much warmth as a real down jacket. But that's expected. She hasn't used this in full fledged rain yet, so can't say anything about its waterproofing. I presume there aren't many of this old version (with silver logo) are in the market, so not entirely sure how much this review will help others :). Hope it does.

Purchased as a jacket for driving as a heavy jacket makes me feel bulky and constricted. Also for using in the fairer weather for walks. I was not disappointed. Lightweight, comfortable and also fitted, which was flattering. Good enough for winter weather with a jumper underneath, without feeling suffocating. Well worth the purchase and we he great northface standard

Brilliant jacket for my wife, super lightweight and warm.

Hi product looks great, but is a gift. Packaging came as above and no reciept/invoice or paperwork anywhere. Very frustrating as its been raining most the day and left outside

Its ok. Still warm even alternative to down fill,what they call primaloft to avoid puffiness .

Colour and fir of this jacket are good, but not as comfortable to wear as North Face Thermoball.
