The MSR Elixir series is ideal for newer backpackers and those who want a super-versatile shelter for a variety of adventures thatโs easy to set up and a great value. Already a backcountry mansion thanks to features like spacious vestibules and gear lofts, the Elixir now has even more room to stretch out on modern wide sleeping pads. Updated fabric coatings increase hydrolysis resistance to improve durability, waterproofness and extend the life of the tent. The updated Elixir still includes a footprint, perfect for newer users getting into camping and backpacking. Review: DON"T BUY THIS TENT - A total nightmare! This tent is not waterproof! It took one Lancashire downpour for me to wake up in a drenched bed. This apparently is not considered a fault, and they have told me I need to waterproof my tent! I've had it for less than a year. My cheap old Eurohike offered me years of waterproof protection, but this which cost me at least five times more cannot even survive one year! Avoid at all costs Review: Good quality - Happy

Great backpacking tent
My 2nd MSR tent. Had original model bought in 2014. Still in great condition. The new green color looks great. Used for ATV Camping. It packs nice, plenty of space for 1. Easy to set up. Held up well on one rainy night no leaks. plenty of vestibule space to leave gear under rain fly. Highly recommend

Good value
Sets up quickly, durable material, i appreciate the included footprint. Cool color, I don't like the round pegs so I replaced them with some hilleberg pegs I have extra from another tent, overall a good deal, I got it on sale for $219+ tax. It is heavy and doesn't pack the smallest but I won't be hiking with it it's just going in my jeep for camping adventures

Good tent, a little difficult to set up
So far it worked great. The only issue is that I purchased the previous version and it was much easier to set up by myself. For me that is impossible now because of the bars keep popping out of the holes. I also had trouble folding the bars when I packed the tent. I had trouble pulling them apart. They are slick and tight. I had my son with me and he had to exhort considerable strength to do it as well. My old one was super easy. I think this version fits in the bag more efficiently than my old one so that is a plus. The size is good for one person really. If you only had two people and no one had anything to store inside the tent then you could fit two but you would have no air between you. I like to store a few things and my clothes in the tent. It has pockets inside in a few places for storing small things that get misplaced easily. It was chilly when I went camping...50's at night so I was comfortable in my sleeping bag inside the tent. I have not experience rain yet and I will update but there was dew and there was no leaking of the dew. Its lightweight. All of the things that are supposed to be there were there such as guide wires etc. I would recommend it. I deducted 1 star because it is too hard to set up if you're alone. Maybe a man or a stronger woman could do it. For me being mid 50's, short, slight framed woman I needed help keeping the poles in place during set up and breakdown the poles, some were too tight to snap apart.
