Great Monitor, upgrading from hp2511s.
Just purchased a second monitor for my dev setup. and I love it. I got the first one a couple years ago I believe, and recently was able to afford a second one. They have changed the packaging which is believe is for the worse, it arrived all shaking around inside the box this time. last time everything was disassembled and tightly packed in secure hard foam. This time it was fully assembled and just shaking around inside with two soft pieces of foam that were not in their correct positions, I assume from jostling around during shipping. Luckly there was no damage, but I did have to pop the top right side of the screen back into place and take it apart to mount on its vesa. all that said, I turned it on, it fired right up, and looks beautiful. For those of you who really depend on correct color... Im not sure if there's a burn in period but the colors are off from the other one I have right next to it (with all other settings the same). Some tweaking there and it was close enough, though on the same brightness/power/etc. setting (adjusted for color) it does look a bit dimmer. so I will keep track of that and make adjustments as it breaks in.I do plan on buying a third at some point to complete my upgrade from the hp2511s I have been using since I bought them new when they came out. They are still going strong but my old eyes can't take the lower res anymore, they will be retired to less intensive tasks.

Excellent All-Around 4K Monitor
An excellent 4K monitor. Picture looks great, and I haven't had any major issues using it with my 2015 MacBook Pro, my 2018 Chromebook, and my Nintendo Switch. I can't find any noticeable input lag while playing games on my Switch, and while the 60 Hz max refresh rate might not make it ideal for PC gaming, it works just fine for consoles. It's also great for when I need to work from home, since I can easily position two windows side-by-side.Some minor gripes:* The single-cable USB-C mode doesn't support both USB 3.0 speeds and 60 Hz refresh rate at the same time; you either get USB-2.0 speeds off the hub, or the refresh rate is reduced to 30 Hz* The PBP mode doesn't support rotating the screen, so you can't stack two pictures on top of each other; it has to be side-by-side, which wastes 50% of the screen. The PBP mode also doesn't change resolutions; both images appear to be downscaled 4K, rather than switching to 1080p each.* The color modes are a little bit weird? You have to dig around and try them out for a while before finding the 'neutral' settingOverall loving this monitor, and an excellent value for its price! Great recommendation from The Wirecutter, especially with its single-cable USB-C mode.

Great picture Brightness and Quality but unreliable USB C Connection
Bought this monitor after doing research for 9 months. It has all the inputs you need including USB C and USB 3.1 on the side for easy access. Very good picture and resolution is stellar.Design of the monitor is great, looks sharp and slim bezels and the base is very sturdy and heavy. The screen goes up and down and also can swivel 90 degrees if you like.Works great with MacBook Pro 13in (2016 edition) and also with Windows (Lenovo) Laptop that has USB CSwitched input auto between the different connections. The only issue seen after 4 months of use is the USB C cable keeps saying "unqualified USB-C cable" error.I have a Cable Matter USB C Thunderbolt Dock. Troubleshot the heck out the issue why it would not display. The Computer detects the 2nd display but no picture visible. Diagnoses the issue to be with the USB C cable shipped from the factory and read on HP Forum that the cable is worn out after use. and looses power. Will attempt to buy a new thunderbolt USB C cable and try and will report back if this solves the issues.

great screen, works perfectly with my macbook
I bought this monitor mainly for work (and playing movies), as a software engineer I work from home twice a week, and I need a big screen. I'd like to highlight a few things that weren't clear in other reviews:1. The USB Type-C port works perfectly with my 13 inch macbook pro (2016 model, maxed out configuration), I don't see any issue like insufficient power or any issue with the cable, it just works.2. It does come with 2 Type-C ports and 3 regular USB ports, but only one Type-C port (the one on the bottom) actually transmits video signal. The regular USB ports work like a hub.3. Its height is easily adjustable, one touch, very smooth mechanism. And since it can rotate, swivel (shake head) and tilt (nod), it basically can adjust to whatever position you like.4. Assembling the screen onto the base it is super easy. Slide and push, and it just locks. took me 2 seconds. No screws or any tool required. There's a button on the bottom of the screen to unlock screen from base.Overall I'm very satisfied!
