Just okay
I love this series of books, but this one was somewhat of a disappointment. I really didn't learn a lot from this.

The Sewing Companion Library should be in everyones shelves.
The Sewing Companion Library should be in everyones shelves. This set of how to books are invaluable and the EASY GUIDE TO SEWING LININGS is running at $100!!! Which is just stupid. I bought it as a download for $11, just keep looking on line. But, with that said, I think I bought 9 out of the 10 books available and if you get them used you can get tham all for about $100 at most, which is well worth the money. These books are great for the beginner to internediate sewer with lost of helpful information. I got back into sewing after decades of being away from a sewing machine and find myself using these all the time.

Answers questions I didn't know to ask
This book answers the questions I didn't know to ask. I bought it for sewing techniques for professional looking garments ... section 4 of the book. The first part of the book covers fabric, tools, measuring and pattern fitting. I've sewn for years and already have a book on pattern drafting and adjustment so I didn't plan to read that section. As it turns out, I am also using the first sections. This book simplifies everything in short, concise, easy to understand words. The illustrations are exactly right. I'm really impressed!

This will bring your sewing to a new level of quality.
I checked this book out from the library, and found myself taking so many pictures of the information in it that I decided to purchase it to make it handy and easy to use. The instructions are well written and the photos are well done. There is a lot of really useful information in here that will increase the quality of my shirt making as well as my sewing in general.

Great buy for the price
This is a very good book for knowing how to make a blouse. The examples are exquisite. I have read many, many books on making clothing and hints and this is by far one of the best. I am also a veteran sewer of 15+ years. If you haven't read this before, check it out at your library and if you want to make blouses, this is the book to read.

Just what I wanted
It arrived on time and was in good shape. It had some good ideas. You could probably check something similar out at the library but I wanted for a reference book to keep when I'm sewing,

Excellent info
This series of books is excellent for both beginners and avid sewers. I try to make certain I have everyone published in my library and purchase them for friends who are sewers as well.

Recommend this book very highly
This book really starts at the beginning, found out what style is best for your figure, how to choose a pattern, what fabric or interfacing, and how to take measurements or adjust the pattern.A lot of sewing techniques are explained. If you do not have a lot of experience, then this is the book you need when sewing blouses/shirts. Everything is explained step by step with a lot of photographs and easy to follow.I have a few years of experience and I still found a few nice tricks :)If you already have a lot of experience I would recommend to also buy the shirtmaking workbook from David Coffin for more options in collars, pockets etc ... to pull your shirts/blouses to a couture level.I already ordered more books from this sewing companion library series, just love them :)
