PHILIPS USA PH62020 Wet-type Cassette Head Cleaner (Discontinued by Manufacturer)

I really like this item. We used it on our 1989 Motor Home we've had for 21 years and after running the cleaning tape through about 3 times, our sound was just like it was when we bought the RV. It was 3 years old when we bought it and we really liked the tape stereo and are able to hear the "Sons of the Pioneers" etc. when traveling through the west and other locals. We have about 200 tapes and thought we would have to replace our tape player with new technology and throw out the tapes, but this has been great.Sincerely, Sherry, Utah.

I still have some tapes that this 80 year-old likes and I can't find the songs anywhere else. This cleaner improved the sound quality.

It's a sad day for people with old cars that still have cassette players. All the cassette head cleaners are drying up... in this case, literally! The cleaner that came with my order was completely air. I think it's probably some form of rubbing alcohol but it evaporated from the bottle. I still use the cassette cleaner and just put my own drops of alcohol into that hole thing.

Product was ok. Instructions were a bit hard to find, however, you just put a few drops of the liquid (alcohol) on the tape and play it for a few seconds. Simple as that. If I'd been able to get to the heads, I normally clean with rubbing alcohol and a Qtip anyway.My machine wasn't any better.

I happen to have a large collection of cassette tapes. I have been transferring the media to digital as I can, however, that puts a lot of wear as well as deposits a lot of iron oxide on the heads. I usually get into the tiny crevice with a Q-Tip and alcohol, but I went convenience this time and opted for a cleaner cassette. It works perfect. After a pass through with the cleaning cassette, I inspected the heads and the device took off all the residue and dirt. I was pleasantly surprised. I highly recommend this to any one that still maintains cassette equipment. The price was reasonable and I received the item in a day.

The Philips Cassette Head Cleaner with solution is a good product if you have an older type tape deck in your vehicle. You have to insert the cassette immediately after applying the solution or it will evaporate (most likely alcohol). Tape decks in home stereo equipment or boom boxes can be cleaned with rubbing alcohol and a q-tip, but tape decks in vehicles are too difficult to reach this way. I recommend this product for cleaning tape heads that can't otherwise be manually cleaned.

It worked like a charm. I was skeptical, but it worked great.

It a Cleaner for my tape play

The product is fine.Though I have a 'complain'. I am not too happy that this item had to be shipped from the US and not from Canada. Therefore the postage in $s was almost just as much as the price for the item.

Had problems with ejecting the tape after cleaning. My cassette player insertion slot is sideways and had to use a small tool to help the auto load/eject mechanism in ejecting the tape. Other than that it did a good job in cleaning the cassette deck.

Great price.

Used this in an old tape deck of mine that would not play. Just kept eating tapes like crazy. Use this and the amount of tapes the player now eats is less.
