Aico EI156TLH 150 Series Optical Smoke Alarm c/w Lithium Battery

Replacement unit. Easy to fit, I used original base plate and just plugged the unit in. It works well (Tested regularly whenever my son makes bacon and eggs!)

I found it confusing to remove the original device from the ceiling, but once removed the replacement unit fitted into the same slot and connected just fine.It gave a couple of beeps post-installation which worried me, but I recall the fitting instructions saying this was due to the battery needing time to charge up.It's been in place for a couple of months and is working fine.It would be helpful to have a sticker where I could write the date when it was installed so that I know in future when to replace it again - which was on the original unit, but apart from that no complaints.Will be needing another one for the upstairs soon and will simply buy another one of these.

Bought this as an identical replacement for my previous one so no rewiring or decorating to do. Previous one I had for 5 years which started to false alarm, possibly dust which I was unable to resolve even though sent back to manufacturer after a couple of years which they fixed and they advised me what to do to vac out dust but on second occassion was unable to resolve by vac for very long before it started to false alarm again hence only 4 stars. Hopefully the new one will be better.

Purchased 2 EI156TLHs to replace 2 by 11 year old 151s. As others have said, it is a 5 minute replacement job once the power has been isolated. There are videos on the Tube which show you which way to slide the unit for release.Note: some suppliers offer an Easifit option. Don't be seduced into going down this route. The Easifit is nothing more than the unit minus the backplate and connection lead plus a small flat-bladed screwdriver.

Bought this and one other to replace the ones that were installed in my house when I bought it new. Easy to replace (once you work out how to release the old ones !!). What can I say? They either work (hence five stars) or they don't (one star) - these seem to work, hence five stars . . . . .

Bought three new units to replace existing units at home. Fitted perfectly into existing mounts. Made my life easier. The existing units lasted 16 years so no complaints.

Easy to replace existing unit that kept beeping because on-board battery had given up after 14 years!Need to use a small screw driver to release the exiting unit, make sure to turn off the electricity supply to it first.
