I don't typically put groceries in the back seat so have not used for that but do have a couple of water bottles in a bag hanging from my last road trip. The one behind the passenger seat is where I try to put my purse. If I have a passenger I usually put my purse on the console which means it tends to fall into the back seat and stuff falls out. When I use the hook that doesn't happen. However, I wear my purse cross body so the strap is long. With the hook at it's shortest the purse sits on the floor with some slack in the strap but at least it does not spill or slide and I can still reach the strap on the hook to pull it back into the front. Years ago I had sever tendonitis in my right shoulder so with the weight of my purse contents it's painful to put in there and bring it back up front but I still like that it's easier than having to get out of the car and open the back door to get it.

I had some nice chrome metal headrest hooks until the day I sat in the back seat and realized those metal hooks could puncture a face in an accident. These do the same job of keeping bags off the floor, without the spear factor of the metal type. Yes, they will hold a bottle, but the bottle swings freely and may bother you when it bumps the seatback. And, since the bottle moves & shakes, it's a feature for water bottles and nothing carbonated.

Easy to install, mostly works as designed. My only complaint is that they keep sliding down lower.The adjustable height is a great feature, but it just keeps sliding down.Works as advertised otherwise. I use them on one seat facing back for my son. On the passenger seat I have it facing forward, and it holds my work backpack in place while I drive. It's convenient to stop & grab what I need quickly without digging in the back seat for it.Nice for long work driving trips.

Like these because they are loose and easy to throw aside in the way, doesn't leave a dent on the chair and has 2 different sizes loops that help with the various sized bags I carry. The water bottle holder is a bonus!

These just snap right on to the headrest post. I always hated that I had to sit my purse on the seat (out of reach when driving) or on the floor in the back seat when someone else was in the car with me. These are great. Just hook my purse on and go. They can moved either to the front or the back of the seat. Great!!

These hooks answered my needs in two different vehicles. One has them hanging over the back of the driver's seat and the other has them hanging on the front of a rear seat. One for groceries and a water bottle, and the other to secure my IT/Backpack for my commute to work. No more backpacks flying around and ending up on the floor behind my driver seat. These are very helpful. I traded my car in and forgot these in the old car....that was the first accessory I bought for my new car. Miss them as I use them a lot

Fit my Ford Focus leather seats just fine though it took a bit of pressure to get them on. Feel very secure though. Since this is my daily commuter I keep one really short and facing the back for my purse and the other is set longer and facing the front for my larger work bag. If my husband decided to use my car the front one easily moves to the back.
