An excellent introduction to the haunting music of the Aboriginal Australians.

Good didg playing, songs are too long, needed polish
Ok, I wanted to like this CD. I'm really into the didg and learning to play it myself. However, in these songs although the didg player(s) show great skill, the composition of these 'songs' is somewhat dry and unoriginal. Typically in a corroboree there are multiple singers and they are singing much/most of the time. Here you have a single singer and they are singing only part of the time. There are clap sticks going on which is good. And you also have in these tracks birds singing in the background which is interesting but does not add anything. The songs go on and on when you 'get' what they are about in 1/3 or 1/2 the time. They just go on too long. This CD just does not pull it off as being that authentic or supporting your ability to trance out on it. It leaves you a bit frustrated because you know these gents could have done a much better job given better direction. So in the end this does not sound like the way you would expect traditional songs to be done. It also does not sound like some of the better more modern renditions of didg music such as from the Whaledreamersย Soundtrack ย like on track 05 Prophecy Medicine Wheel which is one power-rocking song in any culture. You can generally hear much better didg music on youtube from a number of buskers (street musicians). So sorry, these songs just don't do it for me.

Nothing less than imaginative and super fantastic.
I took a chance and bought this cd and was amazed at the sound. The vocals have no words, but sound which blend with the vibrating and always harmonic waves of pulsing "african style" music. The tempo is fast but not sharp. It grows on you. The sounds are unique and not found elsewhere by yoga cds or instrumental cds. Somewhat trance like, somewhat hypnotic, yet pleasing. You cannot play this at a party, and think anybody will dance to it. Yet, the pace is very up beat.

Different and unique - a nice gift
Good meditative music and an introduction to Australian music. Nice for the person who has everything - they probably don't have this! Just a unique gift, good music and true to Aussie culture (I am Australian).

This is how it is
Read an Australian biography / Life story when listening to this record, burn a yankee candle with menthol and eucalyptus in (I recommend a Xmas frangrance in dark green - cant remember its name) and then take 'sit down' time with your book and listen to the Aboriginal voice and not the media or attackers of Indigenous People around the world

Everyone should hear this. it is elemental and timeless ...
Everyone should hear this. it is elemental and timeless. In the beginning there must have been a didgeridoo playing while earth was forming.

Fine music from the outback
Thoroughly enjoyed the music. I listen to it while traveling. It does turn some heads at times. It is what I was looking for in Australian music.

Australia
This is for anybody who is fascinated by the dream time and the magical sounds of a didgeridoo. It is calming, and listening can take you to a time and place, you have never been to. It is meditative.

Brings back memories.
I bought this recording following a holiday in Australia and it brings back memories of some of the music I heard Aborigines playing in Sydney. It also makes a brilliant soundtrack when I am showing our holiday pics on the computer!
