• Waterproof • Tear-Resistant • Travel Map Explore the vibrant history and rural beauty of the largest island in the Mediterranean Sea with National Geographic's Sicily Adventure Map. This expertly crafted map provides global travelers with the perfect combination of detail and perspective, highlighting hundreds of points of interest and many diverse and unique destinations within the country including national parks, archeological sites, prehistoric monuments, museums, palaces, castles, churches, and more. Cities and towns are clearly indicated and easy to find in the user-friendly index. A road network complete with distances and designations for motorways, expressways, scenic routes and more will help you find the route that's right for you. Sicily's western half is shown on the front side of the print map including the cities of Trapani, Palermo, Caltanissetta, Licata, Agrigento, Sciacca, Marsala, and Mazara del Vallo. Inset maps of Isola di Ustica, Isola di Pantelleria, Isola di Linosa, and Isole Pelagie provide greater detail of the islands. The reverse side of the map covers the eastern portion of the region and shows the cities of Gela, Syracuse, Catania, Messina, and Milazzo and an inset map of Isole Lipari. Sicily is Italy's most agricultural region with rich vineyards and orchards thriving in the fertile volcanic soils of Mount Etna, the tallest active volcano in Europe. Greek colonies established in the eighth century B.C., left ruined temples and theaters that are now some of the island's most popular tourist attractions. Every Adventure Map is printed on durable synthetic paper, making them waterproof, tear-resistant and tough — capable of withstanding the rigors of international travel. Quality map
Perfect for my needs. Appropriate level of detail. Although I think National Geographic magazine has gone downhill in recent years and I miss the quality maps they used to include periodically, these Adventure Travel Maps that they produce are usually well mad and are detailed enough to be actually useful for travel, even during this era of GPS.

Great for trip planning
This was a good scale for visualizing and planning our trip. I don't think we used it much on the trip since we used our phones 100% for navigation (and the large scale wouldn't work for that anyway).I love maps and tend to buy one for each vacation we're driving. This one was great for planning out general routes and distances - we covered much of Sicily in a circle.

Road trip planning
Great map for planning a road trip through Sicily. Although large and a bit cumbersome it is a great backup to navigation systems when signal is weak or dropped.

Good information for a road trip in Sicily.
Good assistance if you are driving though Sicily. The roads are complicated enough, especially if you get off the main roads, that this map makes a good back up for your GPS. The GPS is essential. Sicily is worth exploring by car since the island is so varied and the history is so rich. You will enjoy it most if you plan according to your own interests and take to the road. You should not miss the Madonnie Mountains and the Baroque towns of the South as well as the major towns and sites.

Wonderful map!
These National Geographic laminated maps are the only way to go when I travel. I can't count the number of times I've spread them out for fellow travelers or for residents to point out routes and parts of the country. Little cell phone screens just don't cut it for getting the big picture! : )

Great sturdy map
I just took this on a trip to Sicily. It put up with me stuffing it into and yanking it out of my pack for perusal. Not surprising for a quality map from National Geographic.

Tear proof, water resistant and accurate.
I have been purchasing National geographic maps for years as the map is tear proof, water resistant and I trust the accuracy and quality. This map is no different and is 100%.
