Great Little Monocular
This thing has some nice glass in it. All the colors look very true. Nothing looks washed out or over bloomed with chromatic aberration. Light transition is good for a 25mm. Rain, heavy snow, dawn, dusk, it just performs well. Overall I’d say it’s well worth the $100 if you’re looking for a step above average monoculars.

Misleading imaging.
Probably a good scope, just not what’s pictured. I was looking forward to the focus style in the pic, but this came instead. 8x25 model isn’t pictured anywhere. Just be aware of what you’ll get for $75. Received it today ... I’m returning it today.

Were my expectations too high?
Good, not great.I’ve had the 8x25 version a month. (Before that I had the old version nature trek 10x50 for years.) With the new ED endurance 8x25 it was going well at first. I admit, I use my stuff. It goes with me, I use it. I used this monocular maybe 5 or six times before really noticing how the focus ring was hard to turn. Upon more inspection I realized the ring that is maybe super glued? on the Focus ring has separated and it is difficult to turn the actual focus wheel now. When I tried to focus through the lens by turning the focus ring, the part that holds the eye cup started to back off.The eye cup ring seems flimsy and is made with plastic. It was actually cracked. I’m assuming it came this way because I took pretty good care of it. I screwed it back on but feel like it won’t be the same. While it was out the little screw fell out. So, now the eye cup is all loosey goosey .Annnyway, the image is pretty good but I’m not so sure about long term use.Pros; it’s really small, really. Two lens caps (though one is not connected. (Why?)Has little caseImage is pretty clearSeems to be going up in price?Maybe that little vortex would be worth it? I wanted that 6 more millimeters of objective from the Hawke 8x42 endurance ED. Ugh. Hard choice.

8x25 and 10x25. disappointed
First time this brand buyer I ordered 8x25 and 10x25. Feels like $20 worth of product and the rest is customer service and warranty. It's probably cheaper than $20 to make. First thing i packed 10x25 back in the box. Unusable without a tripod. At this magnification it should have OIS if used hand-held. Even when i managed to stabilize it for a few seconds i could never get it as sharp as 8x25. Shaking makes it impossible to use. 8x25 is slightly better. I have a steady hand and don't wear glasses. 8x25 is only sharp in the center of the lens. Focus on something like tree branch and slowly move to the edge. Gets blurry away from the center. Color fringing is noticeable depending on object color and light condition. Forget using it in low light because small exit pupil. 10x25 being worse in low light.I don't know if magnification is overrated in these or the small 25mm objective lens could be the reason why 7x35 40 year old glass seems to magnify better than these monoculars.Eye cup twists out but it's not a solid built twisting cup. Sometimes when i press against my eyebrow to stabilize the eye cup collapses. I don't know what waterproof rating it has and not going to test. Mesh case with velcro.... for the price Hawke should include better quality leather case with magnetic closure. Noisy velcro is not a good idea when observing wild animals in a quiet environment. If i keep this monoc i'll have to replace the case. Factory strap is very short and bad quality. Had to replace it out of the box with good quality camera hand strap. Only the objective lens cover is tethered. Eye cup cover is not tethered and can be lost easily. I'll have to buy a replacement with a tether or DIY one. I I don't know if i want to keep 8x25. A $20 monoc would do the same only cheaper. Overpriced, overrated.update: downrating to 1 star. After 2 weeks of light use the eyepiece tube now loose. Twisting the eye cup causes it to unscrew from the body. When i tightened it, it also made the focus ring stiff. Back to the seller. Amazon/sellers should stop selling this brand/models 8x25 and 10x25.
