This is so easy to use.... it unwinds and rewinds so quickly and easily... with no strain or string burns on the hands. I suspect nearly anyone could use it to quickly reel in a kite!

I've only used this inside the house, playing with it, but it feels well-made. My large hands barely fit in the thing, & the lock & ratchet device seems confusing at this point. Also no information on the line strength, tho it seems strong.

Dislikes - i wish i bought this before i lost my whale kite. String snapped and kite flew into a bunch of high trees. If i had this it would have been hooked up easy and correctly and would not have snapped. If i didnt say it already get it.Likes everything. Makes kite flying so much more fun and enjoyable without killing your hands trying to rail in a big kite on a windy day.

I like the kite winder itself, but would have liked some directions. Tangled up string several times while attempting to prepare the winder for kiting. Also, the small clamp was difficult to open to attach the kite.

Appears to be well built by main concern. Would be the plastic Pull out handle? But I suppose you could replace it. Have not had the opportunity to try yet. The weather changed drastically. make it all out of the metal and you got yourself the perfect product.

This item looks nice and seemed to be a great product for about the first 2 times I used it. It promptly started to come apart. The screws have nuts on one side and he nuts come loose when you aren't expecting it and the thing just comes apart literally. I suggest a different reel, this one is more trouble than it's worth.

I flew my kite yesterday with this reel for the first time. It works great! Highly recommend this product.

Have a similar for my kite. This one has a different locking system. Slightly more complicated than my one button push to release lever. This one has push then you need to flip it and when releasing kite you have to push the locking lever down. From my perspective it should lock the opposite direction.Rest is same as my other one which I love. For this one the kids will have a difficult time using the locking system. Took me a few try to get it going.For anyone with big hands you won't be able to put your whole hand into the grip.
