This One Works!
I've had an hour-plus commute cross country each way to work for the past 14 years, and have used FM transmitters since the early iPods to listen to audiobooks. When I purchased the original iPhone, the Monster transmitter I had been using no longer was compatible with the phone feature, and I've tried in vain ever since to find a replacement that works. I could find a clear station for a while, but it would soon deteriorate with driving, forcing me to keep switching. I gave it up. When YouVersion, a Bible app, added an audio feature recently, I decided to see if any new and improved FM transmitters had surfaced so that I could listen to some scripture passages each morning on my way to work. Based on the good reviews for other Satechi products, I ordered this one and have been pleasantly surprised. It's an elegant design and it works beautifully. Although you have two station presets, I've only used the first one I set it to. I've found you don't really have to keep it on an unused part of the dial--it will overpower any signal and take over the station. You can basically set it and forget it. I highly recommend it!

Put this at the bottom of your list
It works alright when you find that nice sweet spotNot sure if its just because my car is in the late 90s or because im in a small town, but this device has a lot of static. Even when you think you found that spot, moving it once will mess it upIt also doesnt fit my (1st) ipod very well. its a bit disappointing because it does have a nice soundEven then you can tell there is staticI would keep looking around for other alternatives before buying this one

Junk
This thing stopped working after about two weeks. The plug that attaches to the bottom of the Ipod failed to make contact (in the output direction). I tried with several different iPods with the same result. It is very flimsy. Even when it was working, the signal had static. So now it's just a very overpriced car charger.

Worth the money.
I wish that Satechi advertised better because this product is great and I only heard of it recently from a friend who owned it. The transmission is much clearer than expected from an fm transmitter. I saw other options for less than $10 but I did not purchase based on how cheap it was because I knew it would be a terrible transmission and have no music clarity. But the Satechi really is the next best thing compared to listening CDs in the car. In addition, if you have others in the car, you can freely pass them the ipod and it will not affect the sound clarity. The only problem I found with the Satechi is that it does get annoying to find the perfect radio station that is clear throughout your area. This problem is blatent while driving between multiple states. The Satechi does save two stations so it helps a little.I was pleasantly shocked when the product came a few days before the promised shipping date. I was also happy that it came with a car charger even though it was not stated in the product details. So in the worst possible scenario that you cannot find a good fm station, you get an ipod car charger or you can return the product. All in all, I would buy the Satechi. I hope this review helped.

works, no static, a little slow to start up.
I only really have two complaints. It drains the battery out of my ipod pretty quick but Apple products don't really have fantastic battery life to begin with in my experience. Also, it takes about 10 seconds to boot up after plugging it in to my ipod which is a little frustrating. I like to jump in the car and jet, no lolligagging so it kind of throws off my rhythm. But these are minor complaints. On the plus side, it has a longer range than my previous Griffin transmitter so I don't have to keep it within inches of my radio at all times, and was $20 cheaper than my Griffin was at Best Buy!One thing that I don't see in the product description or in the pictures is that this item comes with a charger that plugs into the cigarette lighter and a usb to mini usb cord that plugs into the bottom of the transmitter thingy. These things drain batteries like mad so that was a nice surprise.update: Occasionally the transmitter won't boot up when I plug it in. It takes a minute or so of fiddling with to get it going. plugging it in, unplugging it, plugging in the charger, etc. etc. It's happened maybe 3 times but i got it pretty recently so not good. took it from 4 stars to 3.

Great Sound and Phenomenal Customer Service
I purchased this after getting a new iPhone 4S. First let me brag on the product. The transmitter is very sleek and looks great with the Apple devices. It fits into the bottom of the unit and doesn't need to be hard wired for operation. The transmitter has great sound quality but only if you can find the perfect station. I tried 5-7 different stations and all of them introduced a fuzzy sound into my music. Luckily 88.7 did the trick and now everything is sounding great. I live in a medium sized city and those in smaller cities probably won't have a difficult time locating a channel. This transmitter won't produce CD quality sound but it's great if you have a huge music library and want on-the-road access. A charger is also included in the package so you can juice up while listening. The device does have a few drawbacks including the inability to go below the FM frequency 88.1. I also found that the transmitter doesn't fit very snugly into the Apple device. It won't fall out but if you move it around enough you'll notice it wiggling out of its secure position. Finally I have had some issues getting great sound quality when the device isn't plugged in. Once I have it plugged into the lighter it works great but if it's unplugged the sound quality becomes choppy as I move the device around. In summary...Pros:Great sound qualitySleek designCharger includedAllows for two saved stationsCons:Can't transmit below FM 88.1Lack of snugness when plugged inVarying sound quality when unpluggedOverall, I would highly recommend this product. Satechi has wonderful customer support and they were willing to send me a new unit for free when my first item arrived at the wrong location.
