Long lasting
I ordered these to use on the sidewalk, and I figured hard would last longer. It does. I ordered two packs. I love them.

Not for me
Does not work for my purposes. I found this to be kind of a brownish color and not truly black which was disappointing I ended up having to buy different charcoal to cover this up because it wasn't black enough. It is VERY hard, harder than "hard" charcoal I have used before and I found that it was indenting my paper and leaving scratches that I couldn't cover up. I wouldn't order it again but it could work for someone else if they had something different in mind.
