great replica but beware...
First of all it is plastic so those that think you are getting the real thing should know that. but even more important is that there are tons of counterfeit versions of this sold mostly by china based sellers. the box is the same but printing is dull faded and to a trained eye you can see its a reproduction the item itself looks almost identical but the materials are poor and the painting is different. Actually the painting isn't bad on the knock offs. I don't know what quality paint it is but i kinda like the rustic look it gives but the material of the item is much poorer. To be safe I would avoid sellers in china for this product and watch the other sellers that might be supplied by a chinese vendor. if the print on the box isn't sharp and the blade is flexible like rubber. you've been had. For a fan of the game though it is a fun cosplay item.

Pretty cheap but still cool
I got two of these for my son as he loves Assassin's Creed and he is an apprentice to a blacksmith/bladesmith, and so I thought he would like these. One of them arrived just fine, but the other was broken upon arrival. It would not pop out properly and was just loose. We had to crack the seam where it was glued in order to fix it and the springs inside, and then try to re-glue it back together. We successfully did that, but it was a pain. There is no way to open this up and fix it when it breaks...like a screw or something...it is glued closed. The other one broke the first time he popped the blade out. It comes out with such force that the plastic broke. So now, when he tries to pop out the blade, it actually just goes flying as there is no plastic barrier to hold it in place. We ended up having to put duck tape on it to keep the blade from flying out (although, he thought that was pretty cool too...the blade just flying). After about three times with the one that we had to crack open and fix, the same thing happened...the plastic on the end broke that keeps the blade from flying out. So, now he has two gauntlets that are duck taped up just so he can use them properly. And, although these are plastic and slightly bendable blades, this is no toy for a child...they cut my 16 year old son multiple times on the way out, and are actually kind of sharp...it doesn't feel good if you get poked and you better make sure your hand is out of the way when it comes out. It didn't bother him too much because he is used to that as a bladesmithing apprentice, but not for a kid under 12 or so. And before anyone thinks my son is just a sissy...he is a black belt in karate too...these come out fast...again, didn't bother him too much, but I could see where they may bother a kid not ready to get cut or who doesn't like to get hurt. The only reason this got three stars is because my son thinks they are so cool, or at least the idea of a toy like this. If the manufacturer could fix up a few flaws, they would be great. As for me, I think they are a piece of junk...cheaply made and not worth the money spent...however, if you don't mind cost, and them breaking, and you having to duck tape them, then they are a fun toy to pretend with...just don't get it too close to anyone's eye!

It is Pretty Good! :D
Okay lets see...I received this in the mail in a rather small box. I opened the box and the blade was bent up while it was closed.Okay I took it out of all the packaging it was in good shape besides the bent blade but that was minor. So after using this for a little while the lock mechanism seemed like it wasn't working so I opened and closed it a few times and turns out the locking mechanism had stopped working for sure. I still wore it around being careful whenever I moved maybe that wasn't enough, I was walking up a small hill... SHWINK my hand was hit by the spring-loaded blade thank god it was just rubber and plastic the blade wasn't sharp on my hand but it was a hard blunt hit. ouch... I still wear it very rarely, Well I don't use it a lot anymore. I have it set up in my room as a show piece now its still a good conversation starter I liked it. 4 stars

Good enough quality, it is what it is
He loved it!!!! Had to buy a second one!!! Made of a rubbery tough plastic with Velcro. NOT FOR LITTLE ONES!!! Could still hurt someone if your not careful (you'll put out your eye!!!) Had to reinforce the stitching on the Velcro.

Broken! Cheap! Go to Gamestop.com!
I did not realize this was coming from China otherwise I would not have bought it. You would think that with it traveling half way around the world they would've put it in a BOX. Instead, they put one layer of bubble wrap around it and then taped it up. So needless to say, the box was smashed when it got here. We open it up and the item was also smashed. It was so smashed my son could not even get it on his arm. The blade also broke within 10 minutes. The blade is stuck out and will not go back in. Pathetic....waiting to see if I can return it. And hoping I don't have to pay shipping to China! OH and when we bought it, it was $39.99...now its $99???? Go to Gamestop.com people!!! ALSO---Since I have left negative feedback this seller is harrassing me, asking me to remove this feedback. Approx 10 emails and has been calling my house all hours of the day and night! I had to turn this seller into Amazon and it STILL hasn't stopped the emails!

Excitement that will fade.
I was excited when this package came in the mail. The price is lowered so I decided to buy it. When I opened it I was surprised that there was no instructions. When I use the blade I was excited, till I had to try to retract it. It took me at least 14 tries to get it back in. The straps that kept your blade to your hand was to big. The belt that keeps the cover over your blade was too small. The toy broke rather easy. It's a great prop, don't get me wrong, but as a toy; it is rather frustrating. I wouldn't discourage anyone from getting this great prop but get ready to be frustrated.

A must have for Assassin's Creed fans
This replica is awesome. The plastic parts really look like metal, and all the details are carved on plastic, not merelly painted. The spring action blade is incredible, but it should have a mechanism to retract the blade.Well, despite of this, it's an incredible and AWESOME product
