Good Game with a Cute Story
This was a good game, cute little story. I like the collectors set, comes with an Audio CD of all the music in-game as well as a story book that pretty much tells the story of the game. Bits of the game of somewhat repetitive and one puzzle was particularly aggravating, but other than that, it was a good time. Really enjoyed the music and the art style.BTW, this game has about 4 hours worth of gameplay.

A wonderful edition of a wonderful game
I'm Swedish, so I bought this game off of amazon in order to get a physical copy (specifically the storybook edition), and I can honestly say it was worth every penny. The little storybook is adorable and wonderfully illustrated, and the soundtrack is definitely worthy of being on a CD. These little additions all come packed in a high-quality box with a nice texture to it.As for the game itself, it is a lovely, stylistic and addictive puzzle. I often found myself unable to stop playing due to wanting to know what would happen in the story. The gameplay was fun and interesting as you switch between wolf and princess to solve puzzles, all while guiding the prince. Collectibles felt worth getting and I loved looking at the little concept art of the characters. My only complaint is that the game isn't fully polished and some platforms can be a bit sketchy and glitchy. This is nothing gamebreaking though, and at most mildly cumbersome.Overall, I highly recommend this game for its story and fun gameplay. Do be aware that the game is quite short though (I finished in about 5 hours, including getting collectibles).P.S. Cart did not taste good.

An adorable game and charming collector's edition
Even though I ordered this a couple of days after the game was released I still received the collector's storybook edition which is incredibly charming, the story book is adorable. Although some of the other reviewers are correct in that the box is very difficult to open because of how full it is, the book, game, and CD are pushed in as tightly as possible into the box, I had to use a small manicure tool to push up the front flap of the box in order to get it out without anything tearing, and I could see that one of the corners of the flaps was damaged during the packaging process at the company due to the tight fit as well. Luckily it's not very noticeable, only when you open the box can it be seen. But be careful when opening yours if you don't wish to cause any damage to your box.

Great game, great visuals, just a little on the short side
When I got the game for $40, I was thinking that it was way too low of a price for a collector's edition of a game. But, nope, that's exactly what I got. It came with a soundtrack and story book made to look like what I'm assuming is a tree? Really cute. The game looks like someone actually drew and colored in all the backgrounds and characters, which I just thought was incredibly charming. The story was adorable and I was crying by the end (in a good way, haha). The only think that I didn't really like was that the game was way too short. It took me about 4 hours to beat that game and that was with me taking my time to enjoy the scenery and actually go through the entire game! It's not a bad thing, it just caught me off guard. So I'm assuming that's one of the reasons why the storybook edition was so cheap. I would buy it all over again, though, totally worth the $40

The Only Thing It Has Going For Is Its Short Story And Music; Gameplay Not So Much
If you were hoping to get a Japanese children's story in a video game format, this title nails the aesthetic and premise. The story itself has plenty of charm despite its dark lore. You play as a female wolf that has accidentally struck an unsuspecting prince in a freak accident. After handicapping his vision, the wolf visits the witch of the forest to obtain a magical disguise as a princess to help comfort the blind prince as they journey through the dangerous, evil forest in hopes of having the witch cure his blindness. It's a tale of heartache, regret and genuine companionship that makes for a great story to tell children. For the gameplay itself, it's rather barebones in comparison to other indie titles that are way cheaper. The majority of the game is mainly platforming with a few puzzles here and there. Almost throughout the entire game the players will have to escort the prince through the forest and every now and then solve platforming puzzles as well as a few word puzzles. There was only one word puzzle in the game I was stumped on for twenty minutes that I couldn't understand through its simplistic translation (It was not an actual riddle but actually a multiplication test). Lastly the game's physics are sometimes unstable as there are times where collision against walls might have players stuck in places or fly off into deathly heights, and the controls are a little clunky. If simple gameplay is not a dealbreaker, you'll find the journey to be rather pleasant with its beautifully drawn environment and soothing music. The in-game collectibles only unlock concept art and the backstory behind the mysterious forest witch. I really do appreciate the game having a collection system that merely mentions which five missing leaves from each level are yet to be found. Even collecting collectible along the way, finishing trophies and looking at all the bonus content, you'll have seen everything in six hours. There is very little replay value in this title that does not justify its release retail price. The Storybook Edition comes with a short storybook that only has pages detailing the first half of the game's plot so feel free to read it as soon as you get it. It has some nice art but as a storybook it's rather incomplete. The soundtrack I haven't tested but I can assume it has all the music from the game. Overall the packaging is rather nice but it still leaves something to be desired especially with an incomplete booklet. For $40 it's rather hard to recommend the Storybook Edition and much so for the standard edition. It's not a bad game, but it's not exactly a must-own. I'd say it's worth playing at least once, so best to hold off on owning this title until the game becomes bargain bin affordable or borrow the copy from someone for a day. If an engaging storytelling is what you really seek, this title is worth a play for a few hours. If you're looking for pure gameplay, it's a straight-up pass.

Interactive fairy tale
This game tells of a fairy tale type story through a environmental 2D puzzle platformer; where it's a huge escort mission to get the blind prince to the witch of the forest--Plot:Prince hears a beautiful song, not knowing it's from a wolf due to the walled cliff between themWolf initially wants to eat it's victims she draws in, but decides to give exception to prince since he praises her voiceWhen the prince go to meet the wolf on the cliff, the wolf slashes the princes eyes out of fear as being seen as a monsterThe kingdom looks down on disabilities; even though royalty, locks the prince in a dungeonFeeling guilty, the wolf seeks the witch of the forest and states she'll exchange her voice to be able to transform into a human princess to help guide the prince to the witch to cure his eyes.--Gameplay:As mentioned before, the entire game is a escort mission. You play as the princess/wolf holding the prince's hand and tell him where to go to reach the end of the stage/level.You are able to switch to human and wolf form to solve environmental puzzles.Movement is very floaty, but manageable.Combat:Basically a one button move to slash enemies who take 2-3 hits to kill. There's no challenge to the combat and is just there to build slight tension and context to the story. You can leave the prince in a safe location while clearing out enemies before going back for him if you want.Puzzle element includes:-Pulling and standing on levers-Deal with see saws-Collect keys-Have the prince pick up objects, tell him to move at specific location.-Have prince hold lantern (because wolf and other monsters are afraid of fire) to solve puzzles-There are two riddle sequences dealing with numbers and word play-Environmental restriction for your character: wolf has weight and height of 2 people. There are bridges that break when 2 or more people are on it, and corridors you must slip/ walk under only in human form. While in human form, one hit KO if enemy hits you. Not really a challenge as you can switch to wolf form and take out everyone before proceeding. Exception being last level where you have to micro-manage moving platforms and attack enemiesIn moonlighted areas your character cannot turn human; have to find ways around that.--Graphics and SoundGraphics are really good with hand drawn chibi anime styleNice melodies and background music, lends to the theme of the game really wellGame is in Japanese spoken language only, but provide English subtitles and menus--MiscGame can take 4+ hours to complete depending on your problem solving skills, and how much you explore. There are collectables as you play through the game via golden leaves and flowersThere are in-game trophies to acquire via mini objectives like: defeat a set number of enemies, clear a stage without defeating enemies, finish level within a certain time, etc.Overall, very good simple love story of a blind prince and a liar princess/wolf. More story focused than gameplay. Game is fairly short, but a good experience. A bit overpriced at $40 in my opinion, even with the extras in the physical version of the game.

Fun game, just a bit short
It was a fun game to play through with some basic puzzles, the art style is super cute. I just wish it was a bit longer, it probably took 4-5 hrs to play through the whole thing and get all the achievements.

If the art grabbed you like it did with me - it’s worth a buy
Only played a few hours in so far. Very simple puzzle game so far but the art in this game is just fantastic. I feel like I’m playing a fairy tail with Tim burton elements in it. Well designed monsters. Good soundtrack. Nice game to lose yourself in for a few hours. The story book is my favourite piece of the collection ☺️ Has the look of wood and is very solid

Excellent game! So cute! Boxed set is very nice. Questionable amazon shipping
So cute! The product itself was perfect and the game is so cute! It comes with the booklet and soundtrack, and the gameplay is so cute and a nice storyline. I bought this as a gift for my boyfriend and have honestly enjoyed watching him play it. Its a fun puzzle game and the story is really cute. The artwork and animation style is charming and lends itself to the gameplay.Removing one star only for shipping, in that the shipping box was devoid of tape on one side( whether shipped this way from the mississauga warehouse or removed, i dont know) and so the game could have been stolen or damaged. This is 0 for 2 for uneventful video game boxed sets ive purchased from amazion. I ordered another boxed set for my brother for christmas and that was delivered with the game stolen from the box. Not sure I would order another video game from amazon, but I didnt see this one available anywhere local to me.
