These are small and unobtrusive but give a good area of light around the house when anyone is trying to sneak about. My husband easily fitted these himself by running a cable from, and plugging into the sockets in the garage. The first one was, as many other reviews have stated, very difficult to replace the fitting onto the backplate, but the others were easier. Three tips: 1. Break off the 4 protruding tabs from the backplate, which will give you an extra eighth of an inch room. 2. Only insert the three wires through the rear hole, and not the thicker cover of the cable. 3. Before you start, use some hot glue to firmly hold the retaining screws in position at the back of the backplate. This stops them from being pushed back when you are trying to get the front on.

Difficult to screw the cap on bolts. The only drawback.

Happy I purchased this motion detector lamp. It keeps on doing what it should, once set up, with no more intervention from me.

Not the easiest to install on brickwork. Feels good quality and works well.

I am editing this review after a few months:I installed this lamp on a pathway, hence people are approaching the lamp from the side. With this setting, the sensor doesn't work. The lamp gets triggered by people and vehicles passing in front, on the other side of the pathway but not when needed by people passing from the side of the sensor. I lowered this lamp to a height below the suggested maximum height of 2 meters but still, it doesn't work. I understand now that the sensor is really small! in fact, this sensor is the same size of the sensor you find in the room switch. Another thing: the lamp failed after 3 months, and I had to replace it.Original review:it works but there is a bit of design problem. Whoever designed it assumed that the cable will come out of the wall exactly at the right height where you need this light to be. Well, it is rarely like this. If - like in my case - the cable doesn't enter the lamp body exactly at the back where there is a rubberised hole, then it is trouble... I had to drill a hole at the bottom corner so the cable could enter and not been in the way of the electronic box which sits inside leaving no space for a cable to run across it. Beware that if you instal this at a height greater than 2m it doesn't work properly.

Cool design and bright light.

Gives great light off, and the sensor pics up really well and light timer is really easy to set

I didn’t notice until after installation and came to put the bulb in that the lens had small cracks round it’s priffery within the metal shroud it’s is still firmly in place but unusual.Didn’t feel like dismantling it to return it. On the other hand it looks good and wouldn’t deter me from buying another,
