Quality Retro Vibes!
So not just a retro vintage look but solidly built too! From the moment you hold the W.A.R. cassette player in your hands, you get a real sense that you've purchased something of quality! Nice to see a manufacturer taking obvious pride in what they have made for a change! For me and my family, the sound quality is excellent too! They've made a real effort to deliver a value product - this new version sees notable improvements on speed, wow and flutter issues that you tend to get in a lot of other cassette players available on the market today. The efforts made to reduce tape and motor noise is a welcome improvement too! You definitely get what you pay for in this cassette player! Highly recommended 👍🙂

Probably the best portable player out there, but no warranty from manufacturer
Let's get the negatives out of the way so we can focus on the good stuff. I gave the product a four out of five stars, because to the best of my ability I have been unable to find any mention of warranty coverage on the manufacturer's website. There is a serial number listed on the box the device comes in, but there is no serial number anywhere on the outside of the device itself... so don't throw away that box! Aside from that, here's what I found good about the player. - good packaging, and it's well protected inside plastic bags - it's case is aluminum, not plastic (aside from the viewing window where you can see the tape playing status) - easily charges with a USB-C charge cable, one of which is included with the player... but you'll need your own adapter to connect it to your home's electrical outlets - the background noise is pretty minimal, and I compare that to another player I have (a FiiO). It is quieter. - rechargeable Lion battery - line out/line in functionality for playback and recording input in stereo - support for bluetooth headphones or speakers (it stores connection details for eight devices) - ability to record, which makes it a bit unique compared to other small format players - the playback time on a full charge is pretty good, but about 30% less that the FiiO player Things I find or wish they would improve on: - it does have an automatic stop when it reaches full rewind or fastforward to the end or start of the tape, but there is no auto-reverse playback feature. That would be really convenient. - though it does have a metal enclosure, it would be nice if they offered a protective case for the player (FiiO did a really good job with their case if wearerewind wanted to follow that example) - what wearerewind does offer is a sort of cage/belt clip carrier sort of thing, which doesn't appeal to me at all. Yes, it gives you the ability to hang the player off your belt, but it does bugger all to protect that actual device Do I recommend it? Yes, with caveats. If you want a modern compact cassette player, I think this is the best one currently available. Do not expect the sound quality to be the same as that from a component stereo cassette deck. And that bit about no warranty coverage (that I can find) is concerning. But if you want a portable cassette player and can accept the caveats I've noted, then yes... I recommend it.

Disappointed
I was excited to get this so I could play my cassettes from the 80’s and 90’s. Unfortunately, the playback was wobbly. My homemade mix tapes played fine, but not the factory made tapes. At $150, I had to return it.
