In 1949, Mr. Kihachiro Onitsuka began his athletic footwear company (Onitsuka Co., Ltd.) by manufacturing basketball shoes out of his living room in Kobe, Japan. He chose the name ASICS for his company in 1977, based on a famous Latin phrase "Anima Sana In Corpore Sano," which, when translated, expresses the ancient ideal of "A Sound Mind in a Sound Body." Taking the acronym of this phrase, ASICS was founded on the belief that the best way to create a healthy and happy lifestyle is to promote total health and fitness. Today, ASICS offers a full line of performance-driven athletic shoes and technical active sports apparel and accessories dedicated to bringing harmony to the body and soul.

Great stability shoe for overpronators
I bought these for running and training for a half marathon, and because I am recovering from plantar fasciitis. They are a good support (stability) shoe and have a good amount of cushioning as well. You always want to buy running shoes a half size up to give your toes room, but I bought these a full size up because my orthotics take up more space in the shoe than the original sole, but I think with the original sole I would have bought my usual half size up. I've worn them for several two mile runs and all day walking around the house, and haven't had any blisters or uncomfortable spots. They're feeling great so far.

I use these sneakers strictly at the gym, 5 days a week. I'm pretty picky about my walking/running shoes and sometimes have difficulty finding sneakers that I like. I actually tried these sneakers on at a local sporting goods store and purchased a pair. I came home and found them on Amazon for almost half the price. I purchased 2 pairs on Amazon and returned the pair I'd purchased at the store. Sweet deal! Sneakers are very comfortable. I'll probably purchase more as it seems like every time I find sneakers that I like they get discontinued. Love 'em!

Running shoe
I've been wearing Asics to run for the last few years. After a plantar faciitis injury, my physical therapist suggested I try a different Asics shoe that helped with my pronation more. I use custom orthotics, so I'm sure that the insert that comes with the shoe is decent, however since my orthotics are custom, it makes the fit perfect. Between the shoe and the orthotics (and lots of physical therapy), my injury is healed and has not returned. I would recommend these shoes for running.

Love these shoes
Love these shoes! Super Light and supportive. I have had surgery on both my knees and like a shoes with cushioning to help with the impact. My feet tend to roll inwards a bit. I tried Nikes, Mizunos, and the Asics Gel Kayano 21 (more cushion in the Kayano but for some reason they hurt my feet when I hit the pavement - weird). These are great! Would love to have a second pair in another color.

good product for fat hawaiian feet. Gel is a must and this is a higher end asics. SHoebacca was fast shipping- days early
good replacement for kayanos. Husband was on 3rd pair of kayanos and this looks and feels the same for a bit less. Great for overpronators with wide feet. Will keep buying.

Not for me
Not very comfortable. No padding or cushion poor arch support. I'm use to running in New Balance but decided to give these a shot. Just not for me. I have bad knees and tend to pronate inward. Thought they were a stability shoe not convinced. Also very narrow.

Great shoes for running/walking or standing in.
I probably could wear them all day. I have 'house' shoes & 'out in the world' or running/walking shoes which these are.I appreciate how my feet/heels feel in these & my posture improves. They provide stability, support & comfort all at the same time.
