I'm hoping they get better after break-in
The following is only my first impression. I've served in the military and have worn boots all my life so I know it's a little unfair to judge a boot too quickly, but...There's a ton of vertical wiggle room in the toe area. I can easily curl every one of my toes, or cross my big and long toes. While that may sound good, it's just not normal. I've never had a boot with this much room in the toes, top to bottom. Even after putting in a gelled insole there is a little too much wiggle room to call it perfect, but it's not a big deal. As-is though I'd give that portion of the boot 3 stars. 4 with an insert. They also seem to run close to a size too big in length. These 12's fit more like 13's, but again, with thick socks and insoles they're closer to satisfactory than not. They're close enough to where I don't wish to return them for a smaller size, but if I were to order another pair I would definitely go down a half a size; and yes that's even after the gel insert and socks.I only have one big complaint and that's the way the toe curls. The crease that's created while walking, where the toes bend up... it digs into me pretty good on the top of where my toes meet my feet. I'm hoping that once they're broken in this won't be an issue, but for right now I'd have to say they dig in worse than any boot I've had other than this one cheap pair of Walmart steel-toed. They might even rub me raw before they get broken in. As I walk around in them I'm really questioning if I should return them or not, but my gut tells me to wait until I break them in because this boot, as a whole, is outstanding. For the most part they already feel more like sneakers than boots. They are very light and from the heel on upwards they are the most comfortable boot I've ever worn. I love the tread pattern and can tell they will have superior all-terrain grip. The rubber soles are also relatively soft and I'm sure they will grip on wet surfaces just as well. Being soft, light, cushioned and comfortable I have no doubt these can be worn day in and day out without complaint. I feel they are the perfect height. I'm also fairly confident, judging by its apparent quality, that these boots will last quite some time. The only parts that aren't double-stitched are the lace eyelets and that's probably because there wasn't enough area to do so.

Cinderella's Slipper, sort of...
I have been in the military for 9 years. Over the course of that time, I have never been given a pair of boots that correctly fit me. For the last 3 years, I have suffered through with one pair of heavy weight winter boots. Finally, it got to the point that the soles were physically falling off, and I couldn't handle my feet sliding around in my boots anymore, so I gave these a shot.First off, they are significantly lighter than my issue boots: big win. They are not tennis shoe light, but they are lighter than the average pair of boots, while still offering significant comfort. More importantly to me, the wide size is in fact wide. I can wear these boots for long periods of time without discomfort, which was very important to me. I can't speak to how they hold up long term yet, but so far they have held up very well. One note, if you are in the military and are looking at these boots as an alternative to your issue, I will point out that they are flirting the line when it comes to AR 670-1 compliance. They look a little bit different in real life, and I've had some comments on them from others, but at the end of the day comfort and wearability is my main objective, so I am okay with possible noncompliance. However, you may want to consider it more carefully if your command will prohibit you from wearing them based on their appearance as opposed to having an expensive paperweight.

very good value
I've been looking for a comparable boot to sandstorm stinger/hoodoo which are no longer available and these are the closest item I can find that's under $100. Other like boots are much heavier than the 2# limit I was looking for. Similar weight boots, eg. Blackhawk, Under Armour, Bates were all $130-150 and I'm used to spending that much on quality boots, but this pair is a secondary/back up pair. I have jacked up sized feet also - R/9B and L/9.5A - so damn near impossible to find OTR/off the rack fits. These will take a bit longer to break in than the reviews I've read. The right boot fits well and is comfortable but not perfect and I will likely put an orthotic in it. The left boot will take longer to break in as the machined upper seam on the inside of the tongue to the last digs into the inside of my interior ankle. All's well because the value to weight is what I needed in this secondary boot; so I wasn't looking for perfection and I'm not going to bitch about it either. From the fulfillment side I ordered a 9M and received the order 3 days later, including a weekend, which is phenomenal giving the Xmas season we're in. Upon opening the box the boots were 11W and the box was marked 11W. Not to worry as Amazon exchanged the boot without issue and the replacement arrive in less than 36 hours - also phenomenal. Service expectations are always surpassed when mistakes are corrected at lightning speed.

Comfortable but not the "coolest" boot
Working in Kuwait as a contractor and my job requires tan desert boots. Our issued ones are horrible (5.11 ATAC) This is the 2nd pair of boots I have bought in 2 years and they are very comfortable. It took about a week for some minor breaking in around the top potion of the boot in the ankle area. Once broken in I have to say I do notice when I am walking over rocks (we have a lot of them on our camps) that I barely feel them due to the soles of the boot. One thing I will have to say is that they are not the "coolest" boot I have worn. I was working outside 12 hours a day 6 days a week in temps that hit higher then 140+ degrees on some days and if I had these on I know my feet would get very hot. I am working inside currently and my feet tend to get warm some days. I am making the comparison to my pair that I ended up retiring after 1.5 years of wear, Magnum Elite Spider, which I could feel the air flow through the boot which keep my feet cooler (If that even sounds possible in the desert heat).
