Great mattress, does what it says!
My grandma came over to visit our new place and stayed for two weeks at Easter. We need to buy a new mattress for the guest room, so I take her health problem into consideration when purchase a new mattress due to her age and she's having backache all the time, she can’t sleep on something neither too hard or too soft. After browsing around online and read all the reviews, I decided to try this one out, see how it go, the price is seems pretty reasonable for a single mattress. And the result did not disappoint me!! It does what it says. My Nan had great night sleeps, her back didn't ache at all at night and she is full of energy during the day, I guess that’s what good sleeps does.

Not what I expected.
After reading every single review for this mattress and about a dozen other mattresses, a couple days wasted, it even had better reviews than some big branded ones, I liked the fact people said this bed was very firm.Anyway, upon delivery i was surprised how small the box was, yet weighed 20kg, my current mattress at the time was rated 7/10 for firm and half that weight, I wanted something a little more firm, and the reviews suggested this would be the same or even more so.It was amazing to watch the bed fill up to it's full size, straight away I noticed the actual foam layers were only about 2-3mm thick and the pocketed areas were about 1cm thick. So I left it 2 and half days for it to fill out, also to remove the gasses, which were mild compared to a memory foam bed I got years ago.Unfortunately the foam didn't increase in size from after opening it, I also could feel the springs sticking into you as the foam was so thin, you could also hear this horrible sound every time you moved on the bed, I don't know if it was the springs, or if there is some layer of plastic built in the mattress, but it sounded like the sort of plastic sheet that goes behind plaster board, but being crinkled every time I moved, A very noisy mattress.Anyway, I went ahead and tested the bed last night to sleep on.It felt fairly comfortable, despite the poking springs and horrible noise every time you moved, the 5 min test, sure this was one of the most comfy mattresses, if you've ever gone into a store and tested all the mattresses for a few mins, this one would be one of the best ones in a quick test, but actual use not so much.I woke up about 3 hours later, I was burning hot, despite having 2 cotton sheets, only a 4.5 tog duvet and it being about 16C in my room, (Normally I sleep with the temp being sent to 18C and I'm still cold. The little bit of foam it does have made so much heat, the so called bamboo did nothing to prevent this. I had to open the windows back and front of the room to make a tunnel of cold air, dropping my room to 12C before I could get back to sleep, and even then it was still hot, despite the duvet side of my body shivering. 5-6 Years ago I had a foam mattress for 1 year, 30 inch thick, not just 2-10mm like this one. And the heat problem wasn't much different, I would say you need to have a 13 Tog duvet and set your room temperature to about 6-8C to use this mattress, just terrible. The "bamboo" feature seem's just a gimmick.I was under the impression that the "bamboo" would have a cooling effect, it didn't seem much different to any other foam bed, perhaps you'd need to put a couple mattress protectors on it, I don't know, I've never used a mattress protector before in my life.I also noticed the gasses came back, although they were gone before I covered the bed, they were back again after putting sheets on, so I guess they're deep down in the mattress, and need more than 2 and half days, probably 2 weeks. So I woke up a little dizzy from the fumes.Anyway, although the mattress feels "firm" when you first lay on it, after a few hours its actually very soft and I'd only rate it about 4/10 for firmness. This is not a firm mattress, either the other reviewers didn't actually lay on it for long, or have never tried a genuinely firm mattress. I'm not overweight or anything like that, I'm a perfect healthy weight and just lightly under average height. So that's not a factor to consider.I woke up with a bad back, and hours later it's still sore, my neck is a little sore too. I've had to put my old mattress back, Looks like I'll be going in store to test them.If it's a good mattress you don't need "break in time" the mattress I've had for 5 years, I slept perfect on it first night, it's only due to it's age it's not so good anymore. My current mattress was not expensive either, but it was from a common brand name and cost only £130. This Bamboo mattress, I'd probably only pay £45 for and use it as a guest mattress maybe, (If they liked soft beds.) Not sure why so many other reviews said this was firm.Quietness: = 3/10Coolness = 2/10Firmness = 4/10Pressure relief: 1/10 (Seems OK for your hips, but not good for your back or neck)Initial chemical odours open opening it, 7/10 (Quite good compared to others.)Bounce for turning around: Not really a score, I'd say about medium, which was about how I like it.Overall though I'd only leave it 1/5 based on the heat and so called pressure relief. I'll be returning this, I do not need 100 days to find out, 1 day is enough. I guess I'm stuck with my old mattress, very sad, as I had high hopes for this.I would say if your guest likes a soft mattress, this would be OK if it was half the price, however I wouldn't even recommend it for someone who likes soft mattresses for ling term, as the springs are already poking through, I should think after 2-3 months of use the foam will be entirely flat, and it will just be spring in your rib time entirely. (Meaning suitable for the bin.)I am 11 stone, I think maybe if you're 6-8 stone, this bed would be much nicer, and probably you'd need to have terrible circulation, (Mine isn't that great), so probably this bed is suitable for an elderly person who is extremely underweight and has no circulation to keep warm.

Extremly firm and heavy
Not for me ... too firm - I had to add an mattress topper to make it more comfy- wish I had returned them within the 100 daysand even after three years I still find it really uncomfortable to sleep in all night long

Sleep easy.
This is a fab mattress, i was worried about choosing a mattress online but I shouldn’t of worried. When looking at the reviews I can honestly say this had the best, I was not disappointed when it arrived. It came in the box and initially I was worried I ordered the wrong size, but once out of the vacuum packaging it expanded into the right size. It is well made, lovely thickness and my little lad loves it. It didn’t take too long for delivery, I will be ordering another one, now I have received this one. The price is great, it’s cheaper then most single mattresses, I have to admit it been a really great purchase and can not fault the quality.

Looks great
Amazing how it "pops up" to reveal a very sturdy mattress. We have had the mattress now a few months now and once in place is very firm. It's much heavier than I anticipated and is a very snug fit into a single bed frame, making sheet changes a little bit challenging. Although I am still very happy with the purchase and would buy again.

What a great mattress.
I was looking for a value mattress and after trawling through so many I chose this one.It is lovely, perfect. I have mine on a slatted base and it's fine.I've slept on this for over 2 months now and it's still so comfortable with no noticeable sinking or dents. The sides are sturdy.I recommend this mattress, so glad I bought it. A great nights sleep.

Excellent quality and value, very happy
I ordered this for my son's bed, I was very surprised and a little worried when it arrived in quite a small box! However, we opened it and were very happy, the quality is excellent and it is very comfortable. Still not sure how they got it in the box though!!

AVOID
I've had this mattress a matter of months and the springs have come out already. Avoid at all costs. Waste of money.
