Dont be mistaken..
Don't be mistaken, the 3 starts that I gave the wand for ease of operation is not a bad thing, it's a great thing! If you are a true Harry Potter fan than this is the perfect wand for you! It requires true talent and honing of your craft. The wand itself is very sensitive and responds to the perfect casting of spells. You can't just thrust the wand in the general movement and hope that it works, you have to actually learn the gesture and master it. I'm not saying it's impossible to do, it just requires a slight level of practice.I personally loved it, and so did my brother, whom I got this wand for. We are both huge Harry Potter fans and let me just say that the amount of will it took me to not open the gift before I actually gave it to him is to be admired (in my opinion :] ). So if you're looking for something that makes you feel like a true wizard and not just a wannabe, then THIS IS IT. Don't hesitate at the price, it's only a number, you can worry about the financial stuff later. This was the perfect gift and to see the excitement on my (22 year old!) brother's face was absolutely priceless. In addition to the wand itself, the box that it came was perfect as well. So if you're on the fence about this wand, GET IT. I promise, you won't regret it.

Greatest Remote on Earth
This was the best purchase I have made on amazon. The wand worked like a charm! I thought it would have been more complicated to set up or use, but this wand works beyond my expectations and is really fun to use. The directions are simple to understand and the wand is easy to set up! I am ordering another one for my nephew today because this wand/remote just works, and since my nephew is a Harry Potter fan, he will love it!One side note when setting up or programming the remote, make sure you once press the button on the remote your learning from "once". I realized quickly that I had taught my wand to use the TV power button twice because I "held down the power button" when I was training the wand. You do not need to hold down the button on the remote you are training from, just point at wand and hit button once, and you should not have any problems. This wand is super fun to use and works beyond my expectations, it just works! Great for everyday use, and if u think it will be hard to set up or that it will get old after a while, you are wrong! This becomes an extension to your hand and makes watching TV super fun and easy. The device just knows what you want it to do, I even tried fooling it by mixing commands and I still couldn't confuse it! Great device and props to the developers of this device!

Horrible product, poorly designed, and expensive to boot.
TLDR: this is an absolutely horrible product, and made worse so by the exorbitant price. I received this as a gift and waited too long to try using it, so I cannot return it.The practice and programming pulses are very faint except for the big pulse indicating it has learned a command. I never could get it to work for the rotate gestures. At least I don't think so. It's easy to miss 1 very light pulse of practice feedback, so I tried programming the rotates anyway. It gave me the big pulse for successful learning on those, but they never worked. I could only get it working for the flick left, right, up, and down. And even those stopped working after awhile. The flick left eventually started giving pulses again, as if that gesture was back in practice mode. The manual does not say how to reset the wand, telling you to look on their website instead. But the more complete manual on the website does not tell you how either. I had to do a web search to find those instructions in one of their posted articles. And that article implies that you have to reset the wand to re-enter practice mode. Even for the gestures not programmed? Plus resetting the wand requires using a gesture that the manual says requires practice to get it right. I did manage to get it reset. My batteries read good but I replaced them anyway, just in case. I then retrained the 4 flick gestures successfully, but again they stopped working after awhile, producing pulse feedback instead. Some simple design changes, like an LED, would make this product much easier to use, much easier to program, and much easier to debug when things do not work as expected. Which in my experience will be often. And lest you think I'm just a simpleton, rest assured I am not. I'm a highly trained and successful electronics design engineer. I've successfully designed, used, and repaired a lot of more complicated equipment. Is it possible that I just received a faulty unit? Yes, but that says something about quality control. So if you go ahead with this purchase, make sure you try it out right away. The only good thing about this is that it looks good. I've got it on display next to the expensive wand I got at Universal Studios. And I thought that wand was expensive.
