"Safe" or better put "what amount of risk is associated with use" is relative. As with other respondents to this question, mine have worked as intended and are quite a convenience. Imprinting around plug indicates that they are made in China and I don't recognize an independent testing laboratories mark, i.e.: UL (Underwriters Laboratories). It would be great if the manufacturer and/or wholesaler would respond to your inquiry.
