The PVC system remains a "closed system", no check engine light. The catch cans (passenger and driver sides on the twin turbo 3.5 Ecoboost F 150) only collect moisture, water vapor mixed with unburned fuel most in the form of foam. The remaining gaseous material continues in the PVC lines. I collect the proceeds once a week and pour the liquid into a gallon plastic jug. The passenger side generally has about three ounces and the driver side about an ounce. The liquid smells volatile and would have been injested into the intake manifold under vacume or the post air filter air intake into the turbo chargers during boost. I have collected about a quart in two months (2000 miles) and have not used any oil (Pennsoil Platinum 5w30 synthetic) in the same period. This is far more liquid than collected in my last two applications, that were not turbo charged. This model of the 3.5 Ecoboost is direct fuel injected, my goal is to keep the back side of the intake valves clean.
I can't imagine why California would have a problem with the collection of the liquids other than the disposal. Terry

I dont see why it wouldn't as long as you have space to mount it and allow yourself access to unscrew the can to empty from time to time.  Just so you know this catch can doesnt work all that well.  I even added very coarse stainless steel to the bottom of the can which helps some.  Also, the in and out ports are reversed so the vent from the valve cover would go to the out on the can.

Doesn't the bronze filter cause increased crankcase pressure resulting in blowing seals? Saw a video showing 4x more pressure than normal.

i got a 2012 sonata and im not sure i hooked up catch can correctly, i have line going from pcv to inlet and line going from outlet to intake?

①. Connect the PCV valve and the intake manifold in series with the oil can without air filter;
②. Connect the oil can with the air filter in series to the air outlet of the engine cylinder head and the air inlet of the turbocharger pipe
You can choose to install or not install the air filter according to the installation location. According to the correct installation method, it will not affect the performance and fuel consumption of the car.
