Installation requires some skill, the bulb itself is an exact match to the original
I have the ViewSonic PJD7828HDL which I purchased in March 2016, so over 2 years of daily use. The original bulb was still working, but at 4600+ hours, it was well over its designed life. I thought I saw some flickering at times, so I researched the replacement lamp situation because I didn't want it to blow suddenly and be left without a working TV for a few days. This is the correct part that goes inside the RLC-100 lamp assembly. My main worry with this part is would it survive shipping - but it looks like the manufacturer did their homework here, the box it comes in cocoons the bulb very nicely.Removing the RLC-100 from the projector is easy enough - one screw on the side to release the plastic cover, slide it to the side carefully. The RLC-100 has a little handle that can be lifted up, and a screw that holds it in. That screw stays captive with the RLC-100. The wires from the bulb to the projector have a plastic plug that can be released by pressing the release catch in and gently pulling the connector out.The wires at the bulb side are push fit but are tight, I needed to use a pair of pliers and screwdriver to prise them off. When working on the RLC-100, be careful not to touch the glass lens at the front. Use 99.9% iso alcohol and lint free wipes only. There are 3 screws that hold the thin metal back on. This is fairly flimsy, be careful not to force it or bend it. The last corner latches on, I used a small screwdriver to lift it off. At that point the metal is actually 2 thin parts. Rotate them around 90 degrees to be able to lift them off.The bulb will still be stuck in the metal carrier. There is another small bracket that holds the corner in tight. The 2 edges can be lifted up with a small screwdriver and the bracket carefully pulled out. Not the bulb itself can be pulled out. Another metal spring holds it tight, you may need to use a screwdriver on that to get past it.Assembly went a little easier, there's only one way to clip everything back together. For me, took a total of about 30 minutes.Update - We noticed the image was definitely brighter and clearer than the old one, so we're very happy.

Buy this over OEM!
I was nervous, but the cost savings of going with this bulb versus oem was too big to not try it. I don't regret my decision one bit. I removed the old bulb and installed the new bulb with minimal issues. I'm not great with stuff like this and it still only took me about 30 minutes. It works fantastic! We will definitely be back when we need a new one.

Works well, bright!
When installed, there was a bit of a smell for a few minutes, but it went away. Worked fine and was super bright. Came in fast. Hope I never need one again, but I can recommend! Replaced my VS pro 7720 bulb.

Very bright and well worth it
This replacement lamp was perfect for my ViewSonic PJD7525W. My factory lamp lasted a year and a half on dynamic with 3 hours of daily use. This new lamp is very bright and works great with the room lights on (lol, my kids just asked me to turn down the projector). The installation into the housing does take a small screwdriver (don’t drop the 4 tiny screws in the carpet). The price of the lamp was so much better than paying for one with the housing.

Perfect replacement!
This bulb is exactly like the OEM bulb I replaced. Installation was easy. The bulbs looked identical on the bench. My old bulb was on the way out. When I fired up the projector the picture was bright and clear just like when new.
