Sturdy functional and looks good
This is a high quality lamp which is easy to construct and easy to rebox. The sturdy metal pole/tube is made of a strong metal, not like some other floor lamps. The base is heavy so the lamp will not topple over, and the torchiere shade is also made with a sturdy plastic. It is perfect for a dorm room, but honestly, this is the 3rd one we bought; we have 2 of these lamps already in our living room. It provides ample lighting for a bedroom, and I really can’t say enough good things about this lamp. We initially bought a lamp from Target that was $10 cheaper but it died 1/2 way through second semester (not even a whole year!); this lamp has lasted us over a year of daily use with no issues. It is worth every extra penny.

Works great and good price
It is descent and the price was okay. It is ugly, but hey its a light for a room with no ceiling light fixture. We stick it in the corner. LOL, no one looks at it.

Perfect for my needs
I bought two of these, they were perfect for my needs. I just needed a basic floor lamp, and didn't want a bulky foot switch, or options for changing the color temperature of the bulb, I just used the standard bulb that met my needs. These were for temporary use in my rental property, which does not have overhead lights in some rooms, but relies on a switched outlet, so I just needed a basic floor lamp that I could control with the wall switch, and that's what I got. A+ for the packaging. It ships in a small box, but everything is securely packaged so that they arrived in perfect shape. Reasonably sturdy, weighted base too. Thanks for a good product at a good price.

Lamp with heavy steel base.
Why did you pick this product vs others?: I got this Lamp from amazon because the desk lamp that i got was too short and was prone to falling over. Assembly was pretty straight forward but time consuming to do. I had problems trying to thread the wire out of the base since it wasnt obvious. Use is very straight forward but i fear it will eventually fall over. Its a very tall lamp with just a heavy steel base to keep it upright. I wish there was a lanyard loop so i could secure it with rope or something. 4/5 stars!
