Once opened and then it lasts a very long time.

Bee a while since I bought this product but I'm quite sure it was Japan. Very salty so one has to use in smaller amounts.

No you have to add your own because msg is delicious

I find it not as sweet as sweet white miso ( which I eat straight out of the container), this is more of an umami flavor. Far sweeter than yellow miso, delicious on vegetables. Just not what I'd describe as "sweet".
