Very Fresh, Nice Scent, Pricey
I can only afford it on rare occasion. Ordered with some hesitation, but the fish came very fast, much faster than I thought, nicely packaged with an ice pack. Both fish were vacuum-packaged separately. I opened them, they have very nice fresh herring scent. Nicely fat and moist. Very boney, which is to expect. I would recommend it, although for me it is very pricey. But it is very good.

More than a month delivery
More than a month delivery went on and the quality is bad. I will not order any more

No Roe
While I enjoyed the fresh herring I will only buy what is already de-boned. And there was no Roe/caviar in the herring I received.

Great product
It is a little expensive but: I cannot find (whole) schmaltz herring anywhere else and this product is as good as it gets It brings me back to the old days when it was more popular

Exceptionally good herring.
The herring is delicious, great for the special Russian salad called "Herring in a fur coat" ("Seledka pod shuboi") or just by itself with hot potato. Highly recommended, try it and enjoy!

salted herring with boiled potato is quick meal for me.
It is difficult to find almost impossible . Russianfoodusa is only site I can find salted or marinated herring .

Not right
Badly packaged, no preparation instructions.

Bad packing
Herring arrived today in the foam box "swimming" in the yellow color gel from the leaking (broken) Nordic Ice pack. The foam box was not secured with the tape and gel spilled everywhere :( Very dangerous! Had to put gloves on to get to herrings.
