Wow, this is a nice case!
I just received the case and my first impression was somewhat skeptical. It came in a plain white box, which I have never had any Targus product in just a plain white box. I was worried this might be a used or generic case. After opening the box I was instantly impressed! This is a rugged case.Exactly what I was looking for to cover my Surface Pro 4!The good:The material gives excellent protection. It comes with a keyboard cover that easily slides over the keyboard giving that protection as well.It looks fantastic! The surface pro kickstand is still usable, but unlike the Moko or the Kensington Blackbelt, the kickstand is covered. The kickstand cover comes with "tabs" that are very sturdy and allow for EASY use of the kickstand. The MoKo cover was hard to pull out the kickstand. This case, however, makes it very easy to use the kickstand.By allowing the use of the Surface kickstand, you can easily access the add on memory card slot. The "hinges" on the case where the kickstand folds out seems very sturdy and are made from the same sturdy rugged material the case is made out of.The kickstand cover has the perimeter made out of the rugged material to protect the kickstand while the center portion is made out of a slightly transparent gray plastic that shows a hint of the Microsoft logo- gives it a very nice look. The keyboard cover is easy to attach- keyboard just slides easily into place. It has a pen holder- wa-hooooo!!!All of the ports line up perfectly (see note in con section below on charger port)It comes with a handle on the back which makes the case very versatile- but see note below on in the "Cons" section. The Cons (not many) :You have to keep the keyboard attached to the surface when you attach the cover- they should have stated that in the instructions, but if I missed it then perhaps it should have been more clear. The weight- this case is very heavy. Adds plenty of weight to the surface pro, but then again you know this is protected...but still- it is heavy! I might actually look at removing the keyboard protection cover just to save some weight.Note on the handle- good and bad at the same time: It is very nice to have the handle to make the case more versatile, but it doesn't lay flat, but the handle is removable....but my case handle was hard to remove on one side. Good or bad, it was, and is a great added feature that I honestly wont use. I know some would though and I would rather have the ability to have the handle than not have the handle.Note on charger port- it is a little tight. I have to push the charger in to make sure it sits properly. There is a cord holder that keeps the cord in place, which is good, but if they made the charger port a little longer you could flip the charger upside down which I end up doing on occasion. As it is, you can only use the charger one way and you have to push it in to make sure it connects. The headphone port- you have to use a skinny or slim 3.5 jack. I use this with a portable mic system in my classroom so I use the headphone jack quite a bit. If you have a larger plastic cover around the headphone plug it wont fit. The UAG case had the same problem that prevented standard 3.5 cords from fitting into the headphone port. If you use cordless headphones, this wont be a problem. One feature I think Targus missed is an elastic band to hold the keyboard in place. The UAG, MoKo, and I believe the Kensington all have a band that holds the keyboard in place, this one should as well. Perhaps they were trying to save weight? Maybe? The fix for that (possibly)- the corners have slots, perhaps a band can be fished through the slots to secure the keyboard for transport.Overall, Targus hit a home run with this one. Even with the weight and the other few "cons", this case is an excellent case.

Fits like a glove
You sometimes have to fiddle with the charger cord to make sure it stays seated, but once it's in and lit, there are no issues with it falling out. Well, no more than when you're not using the case. The cutout for the USB port is a little snug so some flash drives may not fit.Sturdy and nice, feels high quality, and the pen clip holds my aftermarket Bamboo stylus just as well as it would a surface pen.I also love the adjustable handle/grip.

Great protection and looks
This is my first review, but I want to let everyone know about this case. When I purchased this product there was only one review and it was negative. I had a leather folio type case and it worked great, but I wanted to use the keyboard more and the folio meant a little clumsier opening than without. I tried a couple of different rugged cases and found issues with each. Plus I don'n like the cases that have their own stand.I took a chance on the Targus case and I love it. It fits well and the cutouts are perfect. It looks good on the Surface and is a cloudy translucent over the complete back. The Surface stand is easy to operate as Targus added small tabs to help start the stand. Some other cases that use the Surface stand and difficult to get your fingers under. The built in handle is nice and removable. The other review was negative about the weight. I feel the weight is not bad considering how sturdy the case feels. The only negatives deal with folding the keyboard. Once the keyboard is on and the case installed, you have to pop the bottom of the case loose to remove the keyboard. Without the keyboard cover, the Keyboard will fold almost flat against the back. It does put a good bit of stress on the keyboard to do that, so we'll see how it holds up. With the included keyboard cover, it will not fold back any where near flat.Overall, if you use your keyboard most of the time and don't mind stressing the pivot points of the keyboard, this case is great. If you like taking the keyboard off regularly, you might find this case aggravating.Ideally, someone would make a screen cover to mount in the keyboard slot, but without the keyboard (like the IPad covers). That would be a perfect combination for this case

RU Kidding me? Just received this case today. ...
RU Kidding me? Just received this case today. It took 30 minutes to get the installation instruction sticker off the inside of the plastic back case. Whoever decided to use an adhesive back tape on the instructions should be fired. Once case was installed it became clear that you cannot attach the docking station connection. The case opening is too narrow! Once installed the case adds over one pound of weight. May as well tote a regular laptop around. This is going back now!

Sturdy, but also heavy and bulky.
Too heavy, too bulky. It will protect your Surface for sure, but they got carried away with the thickness and weight of the materials. Also, my Surface Pro 6 does not charge when the case is installed, but I don't know how common this problem is. My solution was to cut off the plastic around the charging port.

Targus safeport surface pro case
Fits 100% very snug fit and perfect cutouts on the buttons and ports. Fells good in your hands and pretty nice quality material. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for a case with the type cover case with it. Only wish it had a little clip or corner band to kinda latch the keyboard when carrying but that would be my only con. In that case over all I still give it 5 stars it's a very good case. ππΌππ»and it's not a heavy case by any means like the other reviews said. Also can see in my pics that the charging dock works fine.

USB, Charging, Headphones don't work
The case is great but it impedes the use of the USB entirely when trying to use USB thumb drives. None of the 20 or 30 that I have connect now that I have the case. The charging cable does not seat properly and you have to constantly press on it to make sure the power stays on. The headphone jack is off center just enough to cause headphones to not seat properly.
