Is this fast enough for Steamdeck

U3 is the best choice for it. Using an U1 for Steam Deck has drop outs when downloading new games and takes forever. 'U3'. The small 'U' on the front of a MicroSD card with either a 1 or a 3 inside it is the most important thing to look for when picking out a card. This describes the MINIMUM write speed the card will retain during sequential write operations like large game files, 1 for 10MB/s and 3 for 30MB/s. Most importantly this means when downloading new games to a U3 card it will ALWAYS be above 30MB/s, allowing writing headroom for both a fast internet connection, and the unpacking and decompressing steam does simultaneously. For optimal performance with the deck, the card you pick needs to be U3. The 10MB/s a U1 card provides will not be enough to download new games consistently. It will result in write operation dropouts where downloading gives way to unpacking and decompressing, meaning that large games will take hours upon hours to download, especially when using a fast internet connection.

you can use any micro SD card in the Switch, but make sure the read speed is over 90mb/s. this one is ideal, the 16gb storage is 90mb/s, 32 is 100mb/s and the larger storage is up to 150mb/s. don't get conned by the "official" Nintendo ones; you're paying a premium for Mario on your SD card.
