Prep Solutions by Progressive Easy Ratcheting Can Opener

Got this to replace one I couldn't find an exact match to. I have hand strength issues, so racheting helps. This one though, if you can get it to grab onto/pierce the can (usually takes a few tries), you have to squeeze the 2 sides together so hard to keep it from coming off the can that it negates the ease of racheting. Plus, the racheting is not smooth, leaves sharp edges on the lid, and almost always leaves just a piece of the lid attached, which makes the sharp edge problem even more dangerous. At least we have a can opener, but I wish I could find an alternative to this that isn't a $20+ German engineered one.

Bought this to help my girlfriend who has grip and wrist issues. Overall it helped a lot. The longer handle help to clamp on the can. The ratchet handle was a bit short but way easier than wrist twisting with older styles.Did help for a few months. Then started having issues grabbing cans or keeping grip on them. After inspection of why, I saw it broke around the gear mounting.It lasted 6 months, I still have a can opener from 25 years ago that cost around 2 bucks. A bit sad this one didn't last a year.Great concept but still not quite there.

This can opener was poorly made. The plastic wouldn't handle large or heavy cans. Couldn't compress the handle with my arthritic hands. Had one from years ago made of metal that worked beautifully. Very upset.

This can opener works really well for small cans. It does not work at all on large cans.

I use a lot of canned fruits and vegetables and not all the cans have the pop-top lids. The regular can openers that have the handle you have to turn made my hands ache. But with the ratcheting handle all I have to do is attach the cutter to the lid and use a ratchet action. And - voila - the can is open with no trouble.

this can opener literally fell apart into pieces 5 months after i bought it :-(

I had seen one of these that cost $17 and before I spent that much money I thought I'd buy a cheaper one to try. It pop's off of the can sometimes but it works good.

These are ssooo much easier & comfier to use than any\all other manual can openers! I have gifted these to my gf, her mom, and my mom. They all love em!

I purchased for my wife as she has trouble with normal can openers, this product has made life a little easier.

I bought this because my arthritis prevents me from being able to turn the wheel on a 'twisting' can opener - the ratchet action is so smooth and easy and it gets the job done -Unfortunately after 2 months of using it broke and is now useless :(

Great concept - Terrible follow-through. Cheap construction. You can't squeeze the handles enough and the gearing slips. Don't waste your money
