It feels like a standard #2 pencil in your hand, with noticably more weight. A weight that says quality and control. It has a neutral balance, not favoring either end, and it is a joy to hold. It came in a dark green color with no words printed on it. I don't normally use the built in sharpener, but for the sake of this review, I can say it gives you a decent, medium angle, but I could not get a really sharp point with it. My cheap, plastic 4mm sharpener works much better.All this comes in a beautiful package that had me thinking I took advantage of the seller somehow, as it seems worth much more than I paid for it. A professional quality holder at a great value.

Before flattening Waterstones on a diamond plate, I mark the stone with a grid using this pencil. Works great for this. Might be a bit too thick for marking cuts. It would work, but you need to sand the lead to a point a lot I think. It's really robust though. Will stand up to a lot of abuse

I bought this based on a review by the YouTubber "Stumpy Nubbs". It is a great replacement for the standard carpenters pencil ubiquitous to the building trade. The lead is thicker because it is round instead of rectangular and it is harder so it doesn't break off like those standard pencils but that means it usually means you have to take extra swipes if you want a darker, more visible line. The lead is gripped firmly and is easily adjusted, but not automatically like a standard small lead mechanical pencil does. The only down side that I see is that it can't be sharpened to a conical point with most every pencil sharpener on the market, but based on how it is used, you aren't really looking for a really pointy thin line with this pencil. For that reason, I have other pencils for precise work and use this one on rough lumber only.

Just used this pencil for a project I am working on and it works like a champ. Very box to keep it in when not using it as well. Very happy with this purchase.

Unexpectedly this Lead holder arrives in a sealed presentation box, as that typically provided with high end pens. Upon opening the clamshell box on sees the holder sitting on a white satin bed. This is a holder of majesty, it is a brute amongst lead holders, heavy, solid, girthy. It is heavy and long - not for the delicate hand. The lead is massive, providing a very bold text. I'm going to enjoy this instrument!

I get rough cut lumber and use these for measuring cuts with the circular saw then use a marking knife for final cuts. I bought two of these and got white lead for one to use with dark woods. The flat sides keep it from rolling too far.

Great for marking rough lumber. Nice bold line! Not intended for high accuracy marking ( like a dovetail) but great for marking rough cutting.

After years of frustration trying to deal with cheap crappy square carpentry pencils in the shop I saw Stumpy Nubs review this and decided what the heck and boy am I glad I did. This is the greatest thing since sliced bread for woodworking. No more sharpening a pencil only to have the lead fall out onto the floor due to the crappy Chinese pencil lead being broken inside the pencil. So throw away all those square junk pencils and give this a try you won't regret it.

I purchased this pencil to use as a stem holder to lube MX switches for mechanical keyboard. It works much better than a Jewelry Pick-Up Tool. The grip is solid. However, the pencils itself can get slippery if you have lube on your hands. It even comes with its own hard case.Highly recommend for mechanical keyboard builders.

Absolutely great product. Construction layout has never been nicer. I bought 2 and one has red lead.

This item is the greatest ever. I would buy it again and or recommend it to all!
