Seiko Men's SNE487 Sport Watches Analog Display Japanese Quartz Brown Watch

Looks larger when you first unbox it than it actually is. With calipers, it's 43.5mm, identical to my Citizen diver, but this watch looks larger because of its thin bezel and minimalist design. On my wrist, however, it looks fine, although, of course, it's a large watch. But not too large.It has the largest face for its case size of any watch I own or have owned. The black bezel looks great.I think the brown strap looks terrible and is way too heavy to be comfortable, but that was never a consideration for me. As soon as I decided the watch was a keeper, I put on a NATO strap, as I intended. These are the most comfortable straps you can get, in my view. The so-called "James Bond" black-and-gray looks terrific. I have an all black one coming today, and I'll try that. An advantage of NATO straps is that you can just change them out as your mood fits. Maybe an orange stripe? An all-yellow? All cheap and easy to switch out.The strap is 22mm, if you're wondering. An answered question here says it's 20mm, which is wrong.All in all, a great watch if you like something masculine on your wrist, and a watch you can easily see without appearing to be looking at your watch.I set the time a few days ago, and it's still dead on. Quartz watches are supposed to be within 15 sec. a month (or something around that). My experience with this watch and my Citizens is that solar watches do better than that.And you do want a solar watch! I've had automatics, but they're not accurate enough. Watches with batteries will eventually stop at a very inconvenient time, such as when you're traveling. Changing them yourself is easy enough (once you're back home), but then you've compromised the water resistance. Solar is the best!UPDATE: Forgot to mention that the second hand exactly hits the markers. Also, after a week or so, I'm liking the watch even more than I first did. I first wore it with a "James Bond" black/gray NATO strap, but just switched to a red/black strap, something fairly wild for me. But it seems to be working! This is why I love NATO straps, in addition to their great comfort.

This was my first Seiko watch and for the money spent I would say it is an excellent value. It has a very simple design that is easy to read and just looks great. It keeps excellent time, which is to be expected of a quartz watch. I wear this watch only about twice a week in rotation with my other seven watches, which made this a perfect addition to my collection being solar powered I don't have to worry about winding it or resetting the time when I choose to wear it. It seems that a lot of people don't like the hardlex crystal and say it is prone to scratches, I have yet to notice a single blemish on the crystal. Keep in mind though that this is not my daily watch and I am very careful with my watches. There are a few cons I have noticed however. It is hard to see it in pictures and in person unless you look very closely, but there is what appears to be a scratch on the dial between the 4 and 5 o clock. Also the second hand does not always line up perfectly with each marker, which is a bit disappointing and the main reason it lost a star. As far as the strap I really don't mind it now that it's been broken in over a month, it's definitely not the highest quality but is acceptable at this price range. The lume is definitely good but I honestly expected more given all the praise you hear online about seiko lume. Maybe it's just this model but my citizen promaster diver has much better lume. For around the 120 dollars I have seen this go for on Amazon, this is a great piece and I am happy I added it to my collection. *Edit 2/04/22 Took off the leather strap and replaced it with a navy blue elite nato from Barton Bands, you can find them on Amazon in 22mm and I think completely change the look of this watch for the better. Plus you can get a bunch of different colored straps because pretty much anything goes well with this watch. It has recently started to get a lot more wrist time because of this.

Initially, I bought this watch to be a nicer watch to wear with my nicer clothes when I was off work. However, I decided that I liked it so much I would start wearing it for work, too.I work as a paramedic, so an accurate watch is a must have for me. I use my watch for recording the time that I administer medications, for measuring pulse and respiratory rates, etc. I have never had an issue with this watch. I’ve noted that it gains about 15 seconds every month or so.The water resistance is great as well. I have gotten this watch covered in every body fluid there is (I replaced the leather strap with a stainless one of course.) Urine, vomit, blood, feces… yeah. So, whenever it gets all nasty, I just ensure that the crown is locked down and slather it with soap and rinse it under the tap. Still works perfectly.My only complaint about my watch in particular is that straight out of the box, I noticed a very minuscule blemish in the metal of the watch face. Just a distortion in the metal that you can only see when holding the watch up to the light in a specific angle, so it wasn’t a big enough deal to me to send it back.Of course, the crystal has gained a few scratches, but when I’m banging this thing around during emergencies at work and then wearing it for activities on my days off, that is to be expected.All in all, great watch. Seiko quality.

Great looking watch, great lum, put it on a black leather band and it looks great. I dontknkw what they were thinking with the brown band.

High quality. Refined and great looking watch. Got many compliments. Easy to read, and the two color second hand makes it even easier . Accurate, and not too heavy. I love the leather band color and feel. Overall, I'm very pleased with it's sporty elegance and quality feel.

Beautiful watch, easy to read and set up. Keeps time well so far (had it for just over a month). Goes well with any outfit, and it is a solar watch, so am hoping to see how well that works.

4.5 out of 5 stars. I love the look of this watch. Its very easy to read the time with the 43mm diameter, large white hands contrasted on the black face. Time accuracy has been good. The brown leather strap is good quality but I switched to a different color strap so I don't know how well the original wears. The lume is so so - not bright, doesn't last long. My only complaint is the bezel does not rotate and I did not notice this in the description until after I placed the order. Overall I am very satisfied.
