Very well made humidifier.
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. I've never used an evaporative type humidifier. I've tried many many mist type humidifier-warm mist, cool mist.. you name it. The mist type humidifiers are mostly either too strong mist so that it wets my floor and/or the mist is too cool so that my throat is swollen after the use. Also I tried to use "bucket and towel" type humidifier; I prefer them because it's less strong but controls the misture in air, but it is hard to clean and gets really dirty fast. This evaporative humidifier is a brilliant idea. It is like combination of "bucket and towel" and the mist humidifier. In other words, this humidifier is automated so that it's easy to clean and helps to control moisture better. Plus, it uses filters and water to just "evaporate," not emits the mist, so it's more like having moisturized breeze in my room.I uploaded the video, which you can hear the sound for standard mode and quiet mode. For the standard mode, it sounds like a small fan - it's a bit loud for the bed time, but the quiet mode is not completely silent, but it's not too much bothering me to sleep.Filter can be cleaned by hot water, which is a lot hygienic. The parts of this humidifier is pretty simple. You just have to clean the filter hoder, the filter cap, the filter, the water inlet cap, and the body. You can use damp towel to clean the body of the unit.I use clean tap water because the manual didn't say that I have to use "distilled water." I think I have to keep checking the filter if I need to use distilled water or not.Overall, I really like this product. The design is nice. It's easy to clean.

Easy to use, Slimline design
My usual problem with humidifiers is that it is hard to clean, no problem with the model. The wick filter is easy to remove and clean. The reservoir doesn't have hard to reach nooks either.Stylish slim design will fit in well in most rooms. About the size of a medium trash can, it will easily fit on a night stand or coffee table. The led control display only has a few buttons and is easy to use. The quiet mode is actually very quiet. This humidifier is good buy and recommended.

Good Unit, but makers need to fix some flaws
This product is good but with a few improvements it could be great. firstly it does seem to me as if the air around me is easier to breathe. I definitely saw an improvement in air quality in my bedroom over night.... However the bright blue LED light does not shut off, making a whole corner of my bedroom bright blue. I have to cover it with a cloth to darken it. The other fatal flaw is the gap on the side of the unit that lets water out. Why is that situated there? When the humidifier is full of water, moving it to another room becomes very precarious, leading to some unfortunate spills. It would be simpler to close the gap on the side of the unit and have a water outlet at the bottom that can be open and closed by the user. Bottom line, good enough to keep but I wouldn't recommend to a Friend.

Silent, economic, moisture
This product is well looking and works great for an average size room.***Function: efficient, safe, and quiet This humidifier has two modes which are Silent and Normal. I found myself usually use the SIlent mode. It provides enough humidity to my medium size bedroom. I have a guitar, some electrical devices, studio equipment, and wood furniture my room. None of those has any sign of being affected by the humid in the room. That's the most thing I need!. With a full tank, the silent mode can run around 20 hours or more, there's variance, but that's more than enough. Normal mode doesn't create significant difference in noise. I think the name is to differentiate between the amount of water being vaporized into the air.It also includes an function called "Ion." It was described as purifying the air and creating a germ free environment. There's no way I can test this and I have never had problem with allergy, but just to let you know it's there. I always turn this function on even though I can't test or see the outcome.***Refill: you will have to unplug the whole thing and bring it to your water source. It is not heavy at all with a full tank. Very easy to refill. There's no need to remove anything off. There's a big vent/openning on the top, so just pour water into. This humidifier has a meter to show water inside. On the top of the meter is the overflow hole. When you carry it back to your room, use a finger to cover the hole, so water wont coming out when you walk. I'm not sure what's the purpose of the overfill how, but it would be better if theere's a cap.**Cleaning: Really easy, just take the filter out and put it under water. The tank can be cleaned same way.PLus: it's good looking.

Awesome product. Easy to fill and clean!
Very easy to fill. Just pour water right on top don't even have disassemble anything to fill. Very easy to clean filter. Love that the filter is washable! Only negative is that the you cant shut off the blue lights on the touch pad. They are not that bright but we like our room dark. I just put some black paper over it. Also, its bigger than a xbox360.

An absolute must for those living in dry climate!!
I live in Alberta, one of the driest provinces in Canada, also known for its hard water (so ultrasonic humidifiers are out of the question unless you want to spend small life savings on purified water or filters).I've used this for almost two weeks and I've already noticed significant difference. I dont have to moisturize constantly and there is definitely less static in my room.Filling it is a breeze (use a 2L pitcher and just pour it over the top), cleaning it is so much easier when compared to 5 other humidifiers I've had in the last 2 years (which all eventually broke from mineral build up or I threw out because it was such a pain to clean them). The smooth inner surface makes it easy to clean. The reusable (durable) filter is also very easy to clean. You just soak it in vinegar water in a container and rinse it after. I would recommend cleaning it every two weeks (depending on the hardness of the water in your area) to avoid having to roughly scrub the filter and potentially damaging it.The price is comparable to other humidifiers in the market, but when you factor in not having to replace your 15$+ filter every month or spending fortune on 5L of purified water a day (never mind lugging it over to your place!), this is worth every penny! One thing to note: this is not the most powerful humidifier I've owned. It is recommended smaller to medium sized rooms. It might not be as effective in large open spaces.

Great humidifier
Because of the hard water in my area I cannot use an ultrasonic humidifier because the last one I had left white dust everywhere. I bought a Honeywell evaporative humidifier and ended up spending more on replacement wicks in just 4 months than the initial cost of the machine. This model by Opolar has a washable wick that is very durable and easy to keep clean. My Opolar humidifier has been running 24/7 for over 3 months without a problem. It is virtually silent even on the higher of the two fan speeds. It is also easy to fill as there are no tanks to lug to the sink, just pour the water in at the top of the unit. It would be nice if it had an automatic shut off when the water reservoir is empty and maybe a humidistat to set the desired humidity level but otherwise it is nearly perfect. I contacted Opolar before I purchased the unit to ask questions about how it worked and the durability of the wick and their responses were friendly, helpful and speedy. Their customer service was so good I felt confident buying this product. My only complaint is that they do not build a bigger unit for larger rooms so I would not have to fill it quite so often. Am hoping they might come out with one in the future but if not I plan to buy another one of these for next winter and run both of them. Can't think of a higher recommendation than the fact I would not hesitate to buy another one.

No more white dust!
I love this humidifier, there is almost no noise and zero dust. Super easy to clean and the filter is very well made. The air is much more comfortable than with the ultrasonic humidifiers the white dust was unbearable. The only observation that I found a little annoying is that there is no light where the water level is and is hard to see and there is no auto turn off. I would still buy this again though, well worth it. For cleaning I soak the filter in vinegar for 20 minutes and then let it sit in boiling water for 10 minutes. It's good as new. I do this weekly but you could probably do this bi-weekly. UPDATE: After a few months I noticed the water level wasn't going down and even after disinfecting the reusable filter the air started to smell after 4 days. Long term this didn't work for my purpose.

Excellent Product and Customer Support
I bought this to use in my small (200sf) office last year. I was attracted to the feature of a reusable filter that can be washed and sanitized in hot water. It worked beautifully last winter, but this year when I set it up again the air flow was just not the same. I contacted the support center and they gave me some tips and then followed up again until the problem was completely resolved. It seems like most of the time when you encounter issues many companies disappear - this was my complete opposite experience with OPOLAR. They are very invested in making sure their product works efficiently and support their customers, even 1 year later. Thank you!
