Works Great for iPhone 3GS with iOS 4.1 and Sony HT-CT150
I contemplated buying this item based upon the reviews, but I was extremely surprised at how well the device worked with my iPhone 3GS currently with iOS 4.1 running. I have it mated with the Sony HT-CT150 Sound Bar.As previously mentioned, when you mount your iphone into the cradle, you immediately receive the message about the accessory not being supported on your iPhone. Just accept it and move on.Now for the good news:- Charging still worked.- Playing music through the sound bar, the real purpose, works and sounds great! Now for the great news:- The remote control for the Sony HT-CT150 controls the iPhone. You can use the remote to pause, play, forward, rewind, skip ahead/back, browse your playlist, and select songs.- I was very happy based upon lowered expectations! All of my expectations were met. Again, you get the warning message, but all of the key features are supported.Good luck!

Great Item
This is a great item to use with your iPod and a Sony receiver that has the digital media port. I hook it up for parties and then control the songs through the receiver remote from across the room or even outside across the deck. It's very affordable and easy to use. Glad I bought it!Purchased it new through Amazon with upgraded shipping and got it on time and in the original Sony package.

Works well, no problems yet. Good features.
I got this used from an Amazon reseller. I also got a closeout deal on a STR-DH100 2-Channel receiver for my daughter. This receiver has a DM port so I thought I would try a used DM port cradle to see if she could use her Touch as a line-level input device for the receiver. It has worked without a hitch for about a month so far. It is much better than connecting the iPod via its headphone output. The sound improvement is readily noticeable, with more gain than is possible with the analog (headphone) output, and it charges the iPod. Also, the iPod can be controlled by the receiver's remote control. The downsides are the DM port is proprietary and a bit expensive (even used). I think that Sony is phasing out the DM port idea in favor of USB ports on its newer devices, so this cradle probably wont have any future use beyond that with the current receiver. But as long as it allows easy, high quality transfer of music from the iPod, it is worth it to me.

Does not charge the iPod Touch 32GB 3G
I bought this to use with my iPod Touch 3G 32gb player but it does not support charging. It is useless since there is no way to charge the iPod while listening to music.

Sony DM (Digital Media) Port
If you want to plug your iPod into your receiver this is a awesome product to get. Your receiver HAS to have a DM Port option. It comes with several "trays" so you can use it with most iPod's. I have a iPod nano, and iPod Touch and they both work with the Sony DM Port. With the DM Port the music from your iPod can be played through surround sound systems. There are NO issues with sound quality. Sony once again proves to me they are one of the top electronics brands to buy! It is AWESOME & AMAZING!!! I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!

Got a run around from Sony Sales and Support
I had a Sony player that stopped working. After calling the Sony support line, I was told that I needed to buy a new device. The new device didn't work either...after a long run around with Sony support, I was told that I had bought the wrong type of device. After many hours on the phone, I finally found a support Tech that explained that the original device was fine.I wasted many hours and had to return the new device.Seems like the support people should help you troubleshoot rather then telling you to buy new devices.

Sony Cradle is Good but not Great
Well, this is my first review for Amazon and I have to say I am a little disappointed on this item. But only a little, so there is hope. I'll start with the negatives, lol! First, the advertised description says it's capable of displaying the iPod playlist on your TV. We all know that's not true, although it does state that on Sony's website as well. It also advertises charging your iPod while in the cradle. I'm not 100% sure this is accurate either. On my iPod docking station it clearly shows on my Ipod that it is charging when docked. Not so on the Sony cradle. I guess I will find out if it does provide a charge over the weekend. Now the base plates that are shipped with this unit support most iPods but not all. I found that out last night when trying to plug in my 4gen Nano. It looks like a good fit but the 4gen Nano cannot be used with this baseplate. But all I had to do was take off the baseplate from my iHome Doc and slap it in. It fit seemlessly and it looks great. The cord is a little short but I have the cradle right above my receiver so it wasn't an issue for me. The base has some weight to it which is a plus. Nothing like having a featherweight cradle getting pushed around because of a "girthy" cord. I have the Sony HT-SF470 home theater system and a Sony BDP-550. So aesthecially speaking, this cradle was perfect. I've always had good experiences with Sony products for the most part and overall this device allows me to do what I want. Play my iPod through my home receiver. I've also read that videos on the iPod will show on the TV through the DPM port. I will give that a try in the next couple of days and update this review. I hope this was helpful.----After reading some other reviews I felt I had to update mine. THIS UNIT DOES WORK WITH NANO 4GEN!!!! The issue is the baseplates provided do not include one for 4gen nanos period!!!

Great Product
So easy to setup: plugs right into the back of the subwoofer into the DMPORT. Once you plug in your IPOD into the cradle your remote (if equiped) controls your IPOD; I really like being able to pause and forward to next track. Though it is not easy to read your IPOD from across the room. My favorite feature is I can play my IPOD while my XBOX, PS3 or TV is on.
