Simple Design
When it's in use, the measurements are about 20"x14"x9", so it would still meet most carry-on requirements by the airlines (except maybe United - they made some recent changes), which is something I always keep in mind when it comes to my backpacks. It's a decent size, without being too bulky, and the cushioning of the laptop compartment is excellent. The secondary compartment has a nice organizational section, but the side pockets are just pockets that stuff could easily fall out of. It's a quality backpack for light travelers and/or biking with, etc. However, I didn't give it five stars because it pales in comparison to the backpack that I am currently using. It's a single pocket laptop compartment, and the secondary compartment with the organizer can't hold very much as far as files and/or books (nothing too thick)...it just can't hold as much as most other backpacks that I've owned. I don't remember the brand of the one I am using now, but it is almost the same size as the Dell Energy, but it can hold more items, and it can hold them more securely. If you need a backpack that is highly multi-functional, you might pass on this, but if you only need something to function as a daily backpack, the simple design might be quite appealing.

Plenty of features designed for active lifestyles
I just gave this bag to my high-schooler to use. The bag it replaced, a High Sierra, was starting to show signs of age, wear and tear. The Dell Bag is a little smaller than the High Sierra but does have some nice features. For one, it seems to be built more for travel or active use. It has a sizable pocket in the rear that should accommodate most laptops up to 17” and the middle compartment has a pocket sized perfectly for a standard 10” tablet. The tablet will rely on whatever surrounds it for protection, so pack wisely. The cushioning surrounding the laptop compartment is adequate and the rear of the bag is more dense and rigid than the rest but lacks a firm insert like many other bags have. The Dell bag is also a tad smaller than the High Sierra bag. The exterior is 100% polyester and has a glossy appearance compared to the more fabric-type appearance of the other bag. The upside is that it also seems to be more water-resistant than the prior bag. The bag has several compartments, clasps and other features to help accommodate active lifestyles. It's versatile enough for active adults or students. Hopefully, the durability matches the intended design. We'll see how it fares over the upcoming school year.

Price point is a bit high compared to other laptop backpacks
The Dell Energy Laptop Backpack is well made in a vibrant blue color. It has enough pockets and padding to protect your laptop and has plenty of room to carry the essentials along with you. It also is a quality bag, but I "like" it, I do not love it. I own the Swiss laptop backpack (which I love) and my son has the Targus laptop backpack and I have to say that I like both of them better for a comparison point of view. I feel the Swiss is a higher quality for a similar price point. The Targus was relatively inexpensive and it does the job. I am not a fan of the color, but that is personal choice and not reflected in my review. For the price point, I like it. If the price point were lower, I would love it. For a similar price, you can get a higher quality backpack.

Pathetic Quality
The product has very poor inner lining used. The product looks good but such terrible quality of cloth used i am suprised even a branded bag of dell can be of such cheap quality.I feel sad !!!!not expected !!Please do not fool consumers by charging so high for branded products.First i hv received a damaged piece with torn inner lining than i have got a replacement of the same product again same issue, such poor quality inner linning used .

durable & water resistant
its is pretty durable, been using it for over a year and haven't noticed any wear an tear. also seems to be water resistant since i travel on bike and haven't noticed any leaks inside during monsoon. the only issue i seem to have with this bag is that its's a bit heavy.
