Created in the UK, over a two-year collaboration between former Bliss spa-entrepreneur Marcia Kilgore, Biomechanist Dr. David Cook and a team of untiring footwear engineers, FitFlops were initially designed to help modern women squeeze a little more exercise into their increasingly hectic schedules."I thought, how amazing if I could invent something that would help fight the onset of cellulite while I'm walking to the office," says Kilgore. "I work. I have kids. I have a husband. And the likelihood of me seeing the inside of a gym in the next ten years is slim to none. That said, I'd obviously prefer to go with slim." Kilgore found Dr. Cook at The Centre for Human Performance at London's LSBU, where he envisioned injecting the patent-pending 'microwobbleboard' technology into the midsole of the function-forward flip flop. Slightly destabilizing, FitFlops feature three distinct densities of EVA foam in a single-fused underfoot piece, to challenge your muscles more every time you step - to deliver a workout while you walk.

What a pleasant surprise.
I heard about these sneaker/shoes after reading an article in a popular fitness magazine. Searched them and found this attractive style on Amazon at the best price listed on the internet. Even from the article, I did not know much about the product or company, it was simply a top ten list item. It has antibacterial inner soles to prevent odor, it offers lower back support, and proper balance for your foot as well as heel to toe pressure distribution. Having listed all that, I put on the first day I received them and wore to work which requires me to walk all day. The pain in my feet was unbearable! I couldn't figure it out. All the hype, and I was in agony. I blamed it on the "new shoe" issue and figured they just needed to be broken in, but I could not wait to get home, and ripped them off before I had my key out of the door. Here's the SURPRISE: I put them on again the next day, as I had thrown out my sneakers when these arrived, and was expecting another day of torture. Instead, I had the most comfortable day I ever had in a shoe, aside from my ugly Crocs, and they actually seem to give me more energy. I had a long walk day, and could have kept going many more hours. The shoe comes with various pamphlets describing cleaning(they will stain if wet, so u will need a leather cleaner), usage, design, and even how your body and feet may need time to adjust to the shoe. This must have been the resulting factor, because they are now amazing. I immediately got back on Amazon and ordered another pair. I admit this is a tedious, strange review, but I really felt I needed to give all details in case someone else experiences something similar. The end result will be the most attractive, comfortable, well-made leather shoe you've worn.

Great Sneakers but a bit bulky
My BF loves his Fit Flops flip-flops (boy that's a mouth full). He works at a hospital and is on his feet all day long so I thought why not, let's get him the FF sneakers since he complains about his other Athletic shoes. He's 47 and although trendy, he's not 27. So I LOVE the design as it is a Converse meets Clarks. However, he's made several comments to me that the folks at the hospital make fun of his FF sneakers. He wears them as they are comfortable but I think given the choice, he would rather wear something 'cooler' and I don't know what that means. Anyway, he says the soles are a FF comfortable A+, the shoe itself is a bit bulky and I can see that given how the soles are. Anyway 4 stars and buy it for a man who likes comfort and it's afraid to be teased at work for his shoes that his GF picked out... : )

Fantastic Shoe
I bought FitFlops on the recommendation of a friend whose job requires her to stand on a concrete floor all day. I loved the fit and have worn them 3-5 days a week for the past TWO YEARS. They are starting to look a little worn-out and the website I bought them from stopped carrying them. Hurray Amazon!Delivered to my door faster than the other website did and $30 CHEAPER.They are nice looking and tough -- the only "care" I give them is to wipe off anything that spills on them (they are suede) and I don't dance in mud puddles. After two years of heavy use they have a few scuffs but no stains or tears, etc. The inner sole is very supportive to my arches, correcting most of my flat-footedness. They are springy when I walk, helping me "roll" from heel to toe like you are supposed to walk. My feet don't ache at the end of the day like they do when I wear regular shoes. I love them!

Great, but run a little large
Runs a little large but the wearer, whose size is between 10 and 11, has been wearing them for a month and claimed that his back and feet are being treated very well by the shoes.

Excellent sneakers for balance
I'm just rounding out two weeks with these Fitflop sneakers and am greatly pleased with them. It takes a couple of miles of walking to get used to the active insoles, but you soon feel the improvement in stride dynamics that the insole design facilitates. I have mild positional vertigo and find that the insole distributes my weight uniformly and helps my sense of balance noticeably. I agree that they're a little pricey, but if they save me from one fall, they're worth every penny.

Nice
Nice pair of shoes, however I do wish that the company offered 1/2 sizes as well. Since they do not I would make sure to BUY A SIZE LARGER than the 1/2 size you need. In other words if you are a 10 1/2 buy an 11...dont buy a 10. The other item that takes a bit of getting used to is when looking down at the shoe the laces are very wide and very pronounced. The shoe sometimes looks like all laces. The inside of the shoe is a FLIP FLOP and sometimes when walking you hear squeaking (just as you would a flip flop). With this being said I will admit that the shoe is comfortable when walking and nice, but it does take some getting used to. On a scale of 1-10 I would give them a 7 and would recommend them (they are however a little pricey so I would wait till you have some spare funds).

Fit great. Felt great to wear.
I bought this pair of shoes some 5 years ago and only now am I seeing some wear and tear (admittedly from me removing them without untying them first). This is a solidly built shoe and I have nothing negative to say about it. Fit great. Felt great to wear.

fitflop men's sneaker
I have 3 pair of my own fitflops and thought my husband would find them as comfortable as I do. Turns out he does. the fitflops are well made and are very light. They're easy to walk in and you can spend a lot of time on your feet and not feel it in your legs or back. I highly recommend fitflops to anyone looking for a comfortable shoe or sandal. To me the fact that they are supposed to help tone your legs is a side benefit.

Pretty great
They are pretty awesome, I wear at least 2 days per week. The leather skin is the way to go as other FitFlops wear too fast. This is a great product.

Not bad!
I ordered these for my husband. He had to get used to them for a few days but now they seem to be fine. The worst part was where the shoe laces up.
