Nano cure tech fabric is a specifically treated rip stop with self healing capabilities. Our Nano tech allows for the fabric to be repaired where small punctures or tears occur. Here's how it works. If the fabric is punctured, rub two fingers over the puncture area back and forth for about 10 seconds. When you remove your fingers the hole will be sealed. Other aspects of the welder not windbreaker include it being a lightweight nylon shell that is mesh lined with a Pouch pocket and has ribbed cuffs and a ribbed waist.

This size runs small
I ordered the XL size and found it too small, exchanged (very easily) for the XXL. I found it too be on the snug size and I am not a big person. While the torso fit well the arms were tight over anything but short sleeves.

Love the jacket, actually works, can't wait for the perfect hiking jacket in NCT.
I find this Imperial Motion jacket to be pretty impressive. I love the light weight easy pack ability of it. Nice vented hood with draw string pulls. In cooler weather if you zip it up to your face the zipper is backed with the jacket material and no cold zipper hitting your lips. The ribbed cuffs keep the wind out and it is very water resistant. I love the inner mesh body and venting. The self healing aspect is amazing, small holes fade away completely and even a knife jab basically healed with only a small mark to the surface and I think it is because it fell on the grid of the fabric. This is great for walking in the woods. I have it in the dark green color, it looks nice.It does have an interior pocket but it doesn't have a way to close it, open top. Hand pockets are basically to warm your hands, no way to close them either if you put something in them. The only other thing I would add is the small push button stops to the draw strings, you can pull these off something else and put them on yourself. It allows you to tighten hood without tying the strings together at your chin. I see they have another jacket with no cuffs and a draw string waist with buttons down the front. I hope they keep playing around with the components and make a perfect hiking jacket.

Good for damp evenings
This is a great, lightweight jacket, but it does run a little small, particularly in the arms. If you are very muscular or have plump arms, you should consider getting a size larger than you normally wear. The nano tech concept is interesting and it comes with an extra little piece of material so you can poke it with a needle and then "weld" it back together with the warmth of your fingers. This does seem to work for smaller pinpricks, which is interesting. The jacket is good for high-humidity areas (we have very high humidity) and it has worked out very well for me to wear at night when the humidity quickly drenches you and you need a light jacket even if it's warm outside. There is a nice inside breast pocket that works for cell phones, as well as outside pockets. The knit wristbands mean that even if the sleeves are a little long for you, they will stay in place at your wrists (so you can get a larger size without having it drape over your knuckles). The sleeves are lined (which made the large size feel a little snug to me--but I have plump/muscular arms) and the body of the jacket has a net lining such as you see inside some fishing shirts. Overall, the construction seems decent, and the zipper action worked well.My only consideration would be that you probably will need at least one size larger. Normally, when I get a men's large, it is very loose on me (which I like). That was not the case with this one. The large was not too big for me at all and the sleeves were snug, i.e. they fit comfortably for me and were not at all loose, which means that for a muscular man, the sleeves might be too tight. If you are looking for a lightweight jacket for damp conditions, this is a good one to consider.

Good, very light jacket repels rain very well - and yes, it "recovers" from small punctures!
For me, this is a jacket I will primarily use as a rain jacket. It is quite light and its size "large" fits me well at 6 ft 1 and 200 lbs, without being tight. The day it arrived, it was raining pretty heavily outside, and I found this jacket really did keep the rain away - water really seems to bead up and run off from this material. The jacket has outer material on top of mesh behind it - the jacket actually is translucent when held to light. The jacket has a hood with a drawstring, so your head/neck stay dry (and no water came in), and there is elastic cloth on wrists and waist that keep jacket close to the body. It also has a couple of outside pockets, though they don't seal.Included with the jacket is a small square of cloth that you can puncture and see the cloth recover well from a small (tip of pen) puncture. I really don't know how important this is, in that I don't really damage my jackets a lot (other than a big rip, from which this jacket would not magically recover) but I suppose for hiking it is good to know your jacket, however light, will be durable.I recommend this jacket for what it is - a very lightweight, rain resistant jacket. I'm keeping in the trunk of my car for now for when I hit rain and will likely use it for hiking.

Very durable material - except for the ribbed cuffs and waistband
This jacket is a windbreaker so it has the typical slightly crinkly sound when you move around. The size large fit my son's 6' frame (200 lbs.) and there was ample length in the sleeves. The front pockets are nice and deep but they don't zip shut (nor is there Velcro to keep them closed). The inside left breast pocket is sizable however not deep enough to hold my Iphone 7 (it's about 1" too short). The material is very resilient. Mine arrived with a square 3" x 3" sample material so I was able to poke a hold through the material to see how the material responds. When I read that this material had "healing technology," I was really skeptical. I used a large nail to poke a hole in the material and was quite surprised to see that the material doesn't run and after you massage the material for 10-seconds, the hole nearly disappears. If you look closely, you'll still see the hole however it is barely noticeable and frankly, the material is actually really hard to penetrate so this windbreaker will take a lot of abuse. The ribbed elastic cuff and waistband material however is not as durable and this material snags very easily. This is a very nice windbreaker and it has enough ventilation holes that you don't feel like you are suffocating - even on humid days. What I don't like is the "im" logo on the left upper sleeve - it's just distracting from an otherwise sharp utilitarian design.
