50X Optical Zoom 4K PTZ WiFi Outdoor Security Camera, BU-H900

I have lived in the same home for 22 years and have always made home security a priority. Before 2022, I used older hard-wired cameras on the four corners of my property. When I learned that Wi-Fi cameras could be viewed and controlled from both my home computer and iPhone, I began searching for a system that would be easy to install and easy to use. The HXVIEW BUH900 has exceeded my expectations. Its PTZ capability, AI detection for people, pets, and vehicles, and outstanding high-resolution image quality make it an impressive camera. What stands out most to me is the 50X optical zoom, which gives me exceptional visibility. Not all adjustments and features are explained in the booklet provided with the purchase. That is where Ebulwark Technical Support has been especially valuable to me. They helped me adjust the camera speed in patrol mode, fine-tune the PTZ functions, and better understand the quick-access menus. Whenever I was unsure about an instruction, they were patient, explained it again clearly, and, with my permission, were even able to review my settings directly. Their technical support has been outstanding. I personally watch over and take care of the home across the street for six months each year while my neighbors are away in Europe, and this camera allows me to monitor their property with confidence. I can even see packages left on the front porch in remarkable detail. After seeing how well my camera performed, my neighbor purchased two units for his own home. He especially enjoys the rear camera, which overlooks a retention pond and lets him watch birds and wildlife while he lives in Poland for half the year. I have also included a few pictures taken by the camera to support my opinion of its exceptional image quality. The HXVIEW BUH900 has been easy to install, easy to program, and simple to operate. Its patrol, tracking, zoom, and clarity are outstanding. I highly recommend the HXVIEW BUH900. Once you see the difference between ordinary zoom and true optical zoom, there is no going back. If you are looking for a flexible 24/7 PTZ camera with great resolution and fantastic optical zoom (not digital) look no further. You could probably tell what your neighbors 4 doors down are having for dinner. The infrared mode is pure beast mode. At night it looks like the Eye Of Sauron and frankly its downright intimidating. For any hapless perp that happened to miss the evil red eyes peering through the darkness, they are sure to need an extra pair of underwear when the spotlight, sirens, and red and blue light lights activate. For the cons, the AI recognition and motion detection is terrible. It keeps identifying my neighbors mailbox as a human. Sometimes fence posts as well. When you turn the sensitivity down, it starts to miss real people motion events, and still picks up that dang mailbox. When it does manage to track the target, the camera sometimes goes nuts, loses track of the original target, and never goes back to the preset cruise. I didnt have much hope here for this, but didnt buy for ai alarm capability or tracking. The 24/7 recording is also remarkable for how much they can compress on a SD card at 4k resolution. Just dont set up your alarms where its constantly setting it of because an alarm recording didnt save right, and corrupted all the sd card data. Im giving it a 5/5 because it exceeded my expectations in what i bought it for. 24/7 monitoring with high power zoom.

Updated Aug 13/25 Image is terrific. Optical zoom is the only way to go. Auto tracking and alarm trigger surprised me, it works very well from my phone. Quick and easy initial setup to the phone. Regarding the PC HiP2P client software; There are some idiosyncrasies to get use to. I had difficulty installing software that allows me to control and view on my PC. Documentation was the main issue for me as it is lacking clear descriptions of all the functions and procedures to operate. As it turns out it was a cockpit issue (me) caused by insufficient documentation that prevented a smooth install. 5 starts to the support team. As I was loosing interest in pursuing my issues, Wren, the support tech kept providing me things I could do to resolve my issues. That lead to a successful install and is working fine now. Thanks Wren. I now have 3 cameras up and running completing my security plan. Feb 2026 Update. I have to reduce my 5 star review to 3 after experiencing 3 cameras for the last 3 months. First of all it is impossible to keep these cameras connected reliably. I am plagued with intermittent disconnecting cameras day and night. I updated my WiFi hardware and network speed significantly. I even hardwired a camera (CAT6) to my router as a test and still lost connection and did not improve latency. Documentation sucks and can be considered non existent. I can't get these cameras to stop false alarming, even with minimal sensitivity selected. Online searches for help turned up nothing. It appears this camera BU900H is a bastard child as no one in support can answer my questions adequately. My perception is, they don't know and have no real technical information. The only reason I gave it 3 stars is because the images are very good however controlling the camera is like controlling a MARS Rover. It takes up to 13 seconds for my PTZ command to be respond to an command input. I'm sure someone smarter than me can tweak or tune my network for priority but none of my other devices have this issue. For these reasons I'm out. I I no longer recommend purchasing this camera because the documentation, reliability and command latency is unacceptable.

Works great

I bought this camera to keep an eye on my property and it’s honestly been a great purchase. The 4K picture is really clear during the day, and the night vision is much better than I expected. I like being able to pan, tilt, and zoom from my phone instead of needing multiple fixed cameras. Setup was pretty straightforward, and I had it up and running in just a few minutes. It’s been really great so far and gives me piece of mind. For the price I think it’s a great value, and I’d definitely buy it again.

A spectacular PTZ camera! I have had HXView security cameras for the purpose of watching critters in the yard. I have the 30x version but this 50x version is so much better. So much more detail, features and speed. It rotates very fast, zooms in/out at a good speed. You can have preset positions to make recalling specific positions simple. There are tracking features that I don't use, but I can see how that could come in very handy. The camera is easy to set up and use. The iPhone app walks you right through setup. Within only a few minutes the camera is active and recording. I can record video on schedules and take snap shots with ease. I use a micro-sd card in the camera so no subscription is needed! Typically, cameras with this level of zoom are very expensive or combine lower optical resolution combined with digital interpolation to create the illusion of zoom. No digital zoom here, all optical! I can zoom in on small birds on the feeders and nearby trees to see their details. We have a squirrel that visits every day and now we can see him up close! The pictures included are mostly at 50X at a distance of 45 feet away so you can see the zooming capability. The birds in the pics are only 2 to 3 inches long so you can imagine how zooming in on a human or larger animal would be. There is one that is at maximum width on a 50 foot wide yard. In addition, customer support is fantastic! I had a question and within a day, I got the answer I needed. I would purchase this again without hesitation!

First the good. As far as day time the camera works great. Clear image, human, animals, and vehicle tracking works great. 50x optical zoom works very well. The bad. IR never would turn on. Only full color worked. During full color the camera would lose the only 3 simple preset positions when set up for human tracking. Had to reset presets every morning. There is no manual for this device either. I have emailed them to see if this is a known issue with this device at night. And IR not working at all. Preset 81 for auto IR , Preset 82 IR on, and Preset 83 IR off. Even the client app only have 3 choices for night view, Infrared, Full Color, and intelligent mode. Only full color shows what it recorded at night until it lost presets. Without full color on you have black screen only. Update. New camera has the same issue. The camera only works during the day. IR doesn't work. The company knows there is an issue. Hey should change the product to day camera only. Note: night is in beta and not fully working at this time. Finial note. I would have given zero stars if it let me. This product has potential, but it isn't a night camera at all.

The BU-H900 PTZ was easy to setup and configure with the CamHiPro Android App. I mounted it outside against a building on the balcony of the third story. The image quality is excellent in the daytime; it tends to be somewhat grainy at night (Intelligent Mode used). At full zoom around 100' away, details are sharp, but the autofocus can be somewhat noticably slow. The video frame rate is a little low because even people walking at a casual pace, you can see trailing artifacts. Its "Humanoid Recognition" and subsequent alarm does not work very well when the subject is directly below; I had to use non-AI pure motion detection to trigger an alarm at the tradeoff of more false alarms. Fortunately, there are 4 rectangular motion regions to confine the alarms. The app's ability to control motion at high magnification suffers because it is not fine enough for the narrow field of view; thus, there is a lot of experimentation with the PT to focus on the subject. But once you have your subject, be sure to make use of the Set positions for later recall; I consider this among the most useful functions of the app. The video playback from a Sandisk Class 10 SD Card performed quite well. There wasn't too much delay to bring up footage. The CamHiPro's app takes a little bit to get used to find the footage of interest but not too bad. There doesn't appear to be a way to turn the camera on/off on a schedule. This ability only exists for scheduling recordings. The audible Alarm is very loud, quite nice. It serves as a decent deterrent.
