Back to The Roots Organic Pink Miniature Mushroom Grow Kit, Harvest Gourmet Mushrooms in 10 Days

Such a fun activity for kids! We learned about mushrooms and how they germinate with spores and this kit could not have been easier or cooler in showing the process. We grew a bunch and it was so fun trying them with a meal when we were all done!

Super easy to grow, we enjoyed watching their progress. I am the only real mushroom eater in the house, and I didn't care for the taste, not bad just not for me. It was fun growing them none the less.

Followed directions and wrote my notes. This lil darlin’ did as it was supposed to do! I haven’t harvested yet, that will be in 2 days but I plan on drying the mushrooms for soups and stews.

I got 110 grams at first shot, 80 grams second and 40 grams at third shot. Had to cut the whole block out of the plastic because the mushrooms were poking their noses out from here and there, not only at the cut-out. I'm unhappy with the product because I purchased the set for culinary purposes, not for entertainment. The set is OK for kids or adults to watch the progress of growing but forget about cooking for a family. There is barely enough mushrooms coming out to get the taste on the tip of the tongue of one person.

This was my first time growing this brand. Seemed to go fine at first, but then suddenly it started molding. I followed the instructions - I've not had issues with other brands. Maybe I just got a bad batch? Going to attempt to put it in the garden bed to see if that does better.

I purchased the kit on 2-8 and set it up on 2-9. Everything looked great until 2-19 (10 days) when it looked like the grow just stopped. So I emailed the company 2-21 as suggested in the instructions. They didn't respond until 2-23 and at this point the mushrooms had gone rancid and stunk up my whole house and I had to throw the grow away. In hindsight I should not have purchased the the mini Pink Oyster Mushroom kit as I had expected them to be much larger. I may buy another kit. But I am very frustrated with the product at this time. They did finally respond today and told me the mushrooms looked to have reached maturity. Wish I had known a day earlier. It was my first try, I hope it works better the next time. Update to my Original review. Back to the Roots has offered to send me a replacement for my kit. I will increase my rating for good customer support.
