Homicide, blackmail, greed, and betrayal: just a taste of what goes on behind the well-trimmed hedges of Midsomer County in this long-running British mystery series. Review: Great stories in the Midsomer Murder series - I very much like this series. I have only watched one of the episodes for the 20th season series, but it was very good! Review: Absolutely Wonderful - Midsomer Murders excellence as usual! - I highly recommend this series for fans of the show (and anyone who is new to the show!) I have been watching and enjoying Midsomer Murders for many years, almost since it started, ever since I discovered the series via DVD sets at my county library. I loved the series so much that I started collecting my own copies of the DVD sets as soon as they would be available in the U.S. and have continued doing so right up to this series! I would like to counter some of the criticism that others have gave regarding there being too much city versus village content in this particular series. I have been rewatching the whole 20 series and this series has about the same blend of city/village as previous series. And about the same degree of inclusiveness as well. So I don't think there is any real change in this series, and this series is just as excellent as any of the many years of Midsomer Murders! I am a great fan of the show and I am most heartily pleased with this series as much as any of them!

Still very good
This season has six excellent movie length episodes. Great acting and directing. No bad language. One episode does have male butt nudity in a locker room scene. Very nice subtitles. Overall well done.

Still enjoyable but not set apart from many other mysteries now.
I have loved Midsomer Murders since the beginning and have all the seasons. This series is good but like many others have said the loss of the character of the Midsomer villages is missing. You may get a name of a village but not much of the setting. The distinct area and the quirkiness of the characters set it apart from other mysteries. The Cotswolds is totally different from other areas in England and each village has its own identity. Please writers, return Midsomer to its locations and let it rise once again above the others.

Midsomer Murders Series 20; it's worth it!
I have every DVD of this great series and this is the latest one. Neil Dudgeon plays John Barnaby, who has taken over the job that his cousin, Tom Barnaby (John Nettles), left after retiring. Mr. Dudgeon does a really good job at subtle comedy and has an interesting relationship with his DS partners. Just as Tom Barnaby saw himself in charge and ordered his partners to do the running and get the "bad" person, so does his cousin, John Barnaby. I love this series and it continues to amuse and keep you guessing!

From the first Midsomer Murder Mysteries the plot and characters draw the audience into mayhem and intrigue, throughout each episode. Exciting, and always filled with twists and turns that keep us engaged, this latest Series 20 does not disappoint. Hope the series continues. Highly recommend.

The series was excellent but I was disappointed that the discs were for region 1 not region 4 despite my having bought from Amazon Australia. I was not able to watch the discs on our new 4K Panasonic Bluray player and had to watch on the small screen of my computer. We were not able to find a crack online to enable us to watch it. Very disappointing. Trish

Very disappointing - the series is going from bad to worst. The producers don't understand what once made it popular - rural escapism not politically correct lectures. The changes they have made do no service to promoting true diversity either. The scripts are weak, the plots absurd and the casting is ludicrous. The show needs far better writers and a much more sensitive production approach if it is to achieve proper multicultural representation. The lead actor is a talent man but this is by far the most unconvincing role in which I have ever seen him. Once more this is down to the production company and directors not knowing what the heck they are doing. The attempts at humour are awful too and stick out like an embarrassing sore thumb. How delightful the earlier series with John Nettles was but I can't see Midsomer Murders carrying on much longer as its popularity wanes and viewing figures understandably drop. How very sad!
