At first I was surprised at how well it was packed and it already had the orchid mix instead of moss. So I left it as is until I could repot it. I did this tonight. I was shocked at what I found! This poor thing was growing in a seedling container maybe one inch wide and two inches deep. It was plucked out of there and jammed into the growing medium. I had to cut out almost all of the roots. They were brown, and spongey, rotten! There was literally one root that was trying to grow out of the last somewhat salvagable root it had. The photo shown in description is about 1/3 of the size of the plant that I got. It should have been transplanted a year ago! I don't know if I can save this guy, but I'm going to try. I hate seeing such poor care of an orchid from a grower no less!

Looks great. Very healthy and MUCH bigger and further along than I expected! Much bigger than the sample picture! Love it!
